Is anyone (or did anyone) NOT wear a headpiece?

Original post by AMGBride2008

I didn't have anything but my veil, which was also very plain, and took it off before reception. Honestly I thought I wanted something but just couldn't decide. The only jewelry I wore besides my wedding band and E-ring were my grandmother's pearls....and that was perfect for me. Simplicity!

I don't think you have to do a headpiece if you aren't comfortable with one. I wore a comb and had crystal hair pins. Had I known I would be wearing my veil the whole night I probably wouldn't have spent the money on those items.

I love tiaras and headpieces on OTHER people, but not myself. So, I bought a few crystal hairpins and will wear them scattered around my half-up/half-down curls with my veil.

I don't think it would look weird or strange not to wear a headpiece. Do what you're comfortable doing, what you're comfortable wearing or not wearing.

My sister didn't, just had a few flowers in her hair and it was fine. She still looked like a bride.
