My FMIL refuses to send invites to the RD, although I would like to have them. She thinks the word of mouth will be enough.

My FMIL said the same thing, I told her that this is not a small back yard bbq that she is having, and I would really like them, so I had my MOH make them. It cost about $30. I will stamp and address them my self, and just have the response cards to to her.

I am going to send out invites. My cousin didn't and it was a pain b/c nobody new what was going on with anything. I would recommend it.

Yes...FMIL send invites to all OOT guests. I just emailed and told the BP the info.

we made and sent out invitations for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, just so that there was no confusion

I like the idea of invites. If you FMIL doesn't want to send them then just make them your self and do them.

I found really cute invites at Papyrus. Plus, we have out-of-towners who will need directions. We'll make a direction card for those who need it. Plus, this will end any confusion- I feel like I will be stressed enough, I won't want to deal with people calling to ask when the dinner and rehearsal are happening.
