I am skipping it. I feel weird doing that in front of my family. I know I am nuts, but FH and I agreed that we were not going to do it.

wow I am surprise to see how many girls are skipping it. Of course I respect everyone's decision.
I on the other hand did not skip it. It's tradition, like wearing the white gown, like getting married in a church, like cutting the cake to take pics in front of the guests, like the 'father/daughter' and 'first dance'. I do not find it embarrassing nor tacky. As for time (15 minutes is not a great deal).
For those who are embarrassed of the thought, then yes do skip it, but I invited friends and family and something of that nature would not be embarrassing at all. Everyone enjoyed it and had a great time while watching. DH had to do a little dance for me, so that made all my guest the more excited (and based by their screams) they were having one hell of a time.

We are skipping it. Neither FH nor I like it, and there are too few singles in any event, but it takes up like 1/2 hour or more of the reception . . . not worth it to us, even if we had lots of participants.

We're not doing either! There is something about sitting in front of my entire family having my new husband putting his hands up my dress that really creeps me out! Who thought up that tradition anyway! LOL!

*raises hand*
Me me me!!! One, I want to keep my bouquet because it's MINE MINE MINE! (Sorry. Have to keep the inner bridezilla at bay.) Two, FH is painfully shy and is already dreading being the center of attention that day. Why place him in an even more awkward position??

I AM!! I personally hate this tradition. We want an elegant affair and I just don't think having grandma watch while my FH has his face in my crotch and removes my garter using his teeth is elegant or something she needs to see! I'm DEFINITELY not doing it. LOL!!
I'm not doing the bok toss either. I don't like it. I mean a bunch of single gals on the floor fighting for a bouquet is not my idea of an elegant evening IMO. Not my thing at all.
