I was thinking about buying a corset to wear under my wedding dress, but someone at work said it would be hot and uncomfortable. I really like the way corsets look etc, but if that's true then it might not be worth it? Anyone know?

I did and thought it was great. It hoisted up my you know what and smoothed out the curves.
I think its a good idea

I would like to wear one as well. Can anyone recommend one that pushes you up alittle more than normal.

I recommend that you go to a place like Mary's where they fit you into it and customize it.

I am also wearing one, and got it at Mary's Corsietters....they are located in Woodbury.
THey were amazing!!! They even elongated my waist (which I didn't know could be done)....I kept telling them to make it tighter and tighter, so now I'll have an itty-bitty waist! YAY!! It's definately worth it.

Does anyone know about how much they cost? I found a website that custom made them for $200. but don't really want to pay that.

OMG, Kathy, that would be perfect! I have NO WAIST at all ... my boobs end and my hips start ... LOL, not really but it feels that way to me! I haven't even picked a wedding dress yet, but I am def. doing the drop waist just so it give the illusion of a longer body. That corset sounds fantastic!

From what I could gather....there's no set price, it depends on which brand fits you best, the alterations...I paid under $100 for it, and that includes all the alterations...they altered it over 5 times (they did it right there while I waited).
THey altered it a bit...brought it back, I tried it on...then the woman said she wanted to make it smoother looking...so she took it in more...altered it, brought it back, I tried it on again, and so on and so on.

Yes I did, I got the corset last week (or the week before...I can't remember), and my fitting is next Thursday. But, I was so stressed out because I waited so long...so I recommend getting it a little sooner.

I went a couple of weeks before my fitting.. but allow yourself ample time.. They had to order my corset in my size, so it took a couple of weeks, then sometimes you may have to come back..
I loved it. I'm also a small person and it sucked everything in.. I also have like no boobs, and Mary sewed in like these pillows and the corset gave me cleavage!!!

THey're even great for women who are like D or DD cups...I am a D cup but have a small frame, I was worried that any bra/corset would make me pop out of my dress...that corset just made everything perfect. I felt like a 1950s pin up with that sucker on!

I got the 'Flattering Me' corset/bustier from the bridal salon at Macy's and it does one heck of a job on holding everything together and pushing some stuff up and it 's still comfortable. It's not too expensive either.

my FSIL got a great corset from fredericks, and it worked great. She too had no boobs and also bought these jell-sillicone pads that added cleavage. She was so happy with the results
