My MOH does not want to do a speech. And to be honest, I am hurt.

I have been a MOH several times and was put on the spot once to make a speech and declined. I personally find it uncomfortable. I'm not a good public speaker - it was nothing against the bride or groom.
Other than that, I've never seen it done.

Only the Best Man.
I went to a wedding once where 2 best men and 2 maid of honors did speeches ... waaaay to many speeches.

My sister was our MOH and she hates talking in front of people so she did not give a speech. We had two best men so it worked out fine. I wouldn't have forced her if she was uncomfortable.

My MOH did and was wonderful. She was nervous and kept it short and sweet. The best men spoke first and were long and hillarious. Her speech was a nice ending to the toasts.

Mine probably wont...and that is totally OK w/ me--b/c in a way, I have a feeling the speech that will be given by the best man will probably be more than enough.....

Same here. I didn't even ask them to. I have actually never seen this at a wedding, I have only seen the best man give a speech. I am sure if one of them wants to they are welome to, but I didn't request it.

I dod not want my MOH doing a speech. I think it takes too long, but that's JMO. I think the best man is enough. And my sister is my MOH and I know she'd rather not make a speech. So we are all happy :)

My MOH (my sister) is not..She would be too petrified beforehand, and I don't want her to spend half the day being miserable b/c she knows she has to give a speech...

My MOH gave a toast at my wedding in December and I (as her MOH) gave one at her wedding in May. We were on the same page and felt relatively comfortable speaking in front of people. It was very meaningful for both of us.

I've never been to a wedding with an MOH speech either. Mine didn't since the thought didn't cross my mind!
