I wouldn't say it is cheesy, but dinner is always better. How many people?

Re: ... Is brunch ?

I don't want people to think so bc a brunch is alot of food it seems on the menu I am looking at ...... and then think I am being cheap..

I just wanted something different then what the wedding will be..

The girl in my office said I would think you were being CHEAP if you had a brunch?

UGH!

Re: ... Is brunch ?

I don't think it is cheap or cheesy. I had a brunch engagement party and everyone loved it. They loved all the food we had. I think it depends on your idea of what an engagement party should be. My FH and I are not very traditional and liked this as an option.

Re: ... Is brunch ?

I do not think so. I may not be the best person to ask as I am very lowkey person.

What type of vibe are you going for? If it is just a small group of immediate family and close friends I do not see anything wrong with a brunch.

Re: ... Is brunch ?

My friend is having a brunch. She actually said that it was going to be so great that she dodn't want to compete against her own wedding, which is a night affair!!! I don't think anyone who loves you will feel that that is anything other than lovely!!

Re: ... Is brunch ?

An engagement party can really be anything you want it to be...no requirements.

I had a late afternoon, evening backyard party. Catered, but very casual, and it was so much fun!

I don't think an engagement party brunch is cheezy at all. I'm actually going to one next weekend.

Re: ... Is brunch ?

I think brunch is a great idea, especially to be, as you said, different from the wedding. As for your co-worker who said it was cheap - just because something is the biggest (in this case, dinner being the biggest meal) doesn't mean it's the greatest, or the most fun, or the best. A brunch can be fabulous. Mmm...now I want a mimosa!
