Is DH the one true love of your life...

And if not, does he know it? What happened to that person? Do they know that they were the love of your life?

Having a very nostalgic day here ladies..

I did love some one else a long time ago, but he turned out to be an a$$ and we grew apart. I saw him a few years ago and felt nothing for him. It was strange to have loved him so greatly at one point and now to feel nothing.

I believe now that the love we had was puppy love and my true love is DH!

he wasn't my first love, but he is the true love of my life.

(still keep in touch with my first love - he's a friend of Al's, thats how Al & I met )

I read somewhere a quote that read (I am paraphrasing here) there are so many people for one person... not necessarily one true love but MANY. and its all about time, place, location, etc. I think most people have met someone that they knew they could fall in love with but due to circumstances it just wasn't possible . Just IMHO.

That said my DH is my true love in that it has (knock on wood) worked out for us... and we are lucky in that respect.

There are a couple of people that will always have a special place in my heart because I still care about their well being and we shared special moments together, but my FH owns my heart. I have loved him from the first day i saw him. (We were friends first). We have both grown so much as individuals and together. I met him when I was 15 but we didn't start dating until I was 19. We have been through it all.

I have been in love before, and it feels different with each person. Sometimes the love is passionate and fiery. Other times it's a more quiet, tender love.

I don't believe there is ONE true love. I believe we can have true love many times in our lives.

I have loved deeply and truly more than once in the past. But no one has ever returned such a deep and true love to me than my DH. In that sense, yes, he is the love of my life.

I consider myself very lucky to love and be loved by someone like him.

I have been in love before and each has been different & in different times in my life. I don't believe in 'one true love'...just as I don't believe in 'forever'.

None has touched me the way my FH has...he is my love and I feel very lucky to love and be loved by him.

Frankie was not my first love but he is my best!!!

There are several men that I still care for, one will be at my wedding with his wife. When I look at him there is nothing but respect and friendship. He is a wonderful man that I loved deeply but not the timing was not right for us. He met his perfect wife years later as I have met Frankie. I knew she was perfect for him the moment I met her.

I was just speaking to another ex and there is nothing - absolutely nothing. Well that is not true I feel pity for him but that is it!

Frankie is perfect for me. He is the only that can put up with my crap and that 'gets' me. He knows when to kick my butt and tell me to shut up and when to sit back and let me be the hurricane that I can be!

I am lucky to have him!!

I got married at 32 so saying that I never loved anyone other than my husband would be a lie. I think that first boy that we all loved (remember that guy would made you cry in high school?) will always hold a special place in all of our hearts- even if he was an a$$ in the end.
I have loved a few boys/guy/men in my love, and each very differently. And the truth is love is not the only thing that makes a marriage work. I think you need sooo many things such as trust, respect, similar dreams etc... but I can say without hesitation that I married the right man, the man that I deeply love for all the right reasons and that deeply loves me back for all the right reasons.

My DH definitely is... we're High School Sweethearts. We've been together since we were 15. We're going on almost 10 years now!

My DH was definitely my one true love. We were together two years in college but broke up when I graduated and moved away. When I was in other relationships later on and I felt they were taking a turn for the worse, I often wondered what it would be like if I was still with my college sweetheart (my DH). Well, I got my wish three years ago, and now we're married!

I am feel just like michele31. I too got married 'older' and yes I did love others before I meet my husband but our love is a love to stay. I will ALWAYS remember my high school boyfriend....my first true love...but my heart is wiser and stronger now and Harry has it!!
