our church doesn't allow them, but even if it did, I wouldn't use one. At the last several weddings I've attended, runners have caused sooo many problems. They shifted, 2 elderly women slipped on them and almost fell , they tore, they were blowing in the wind ....

Our church has wood floors with a carpet runner down the center isle... looks fine to me

I'm thinking about it--if the weather's nice, we're going to get married on the brick terrace at Timber Point. I don't want my gown getting dirty. On the other hand, I keep hearing about problems. But, I was thinking of having the guests enter the seats from the outside, not from the aisle I'll be walking down, so they wouldn't be on it. Probably not worth it, just another one of those things that 'everyone' gets and ends up costing more money! It's so hard, though, isn't it, when you see these pretty things in magazines and online on other girls' weddings, so you want them too. All of them! The runner, the petal cones, etc, etc. I should just concentrate on getting a huppah, which I DO need.

no. They have no real purpose, and they just look wrinkled and messy after about five minutes.
