We have a gas fireplace that heats the whole house...I usually turn our heat down and put the fireplace on bc I heard it was cheaper, but now I heard that it is the same as oil heat...Any thoughts
Gas prices go up and down. Im not sure if its cheaper but for us its the convinence of no haveing to worry about getting the tank filled all the time.
I just asked FH and he said it is more expensive then oil, but less maintence, cleaner and heats the house better (what that means). Hope that helps
We converted from oil to gas about 3 years ago and our bills have been considerably less with gas. Keep in mind our oil burner was really, really old and inefficient. But I like gas so much better than oil..it's defintely cleaner and there is no icky oil smell in my basement anymore.
