I've read that many halls tax the gratuity! Any thoughts? Experiences?

Re: Is Gratuity Taxed? w/ Poll
I just spoke with North Ritz - they figure it out as the per plate charge + gratuity + tax.

Re: Is Gratuity Taxed? w/ Poll
i dont have my contract in front of me, so i am not 100% sure, but i think that we signed the contract for one flat rate per person (inclusive of all taxes and gratuities)...
i could care less how they work backwards to figure out the actual amount and what is taxed and how much...i just want to know the final cost per person

ask the hall if u pay the gratuity in cash to not tax it. some will say yes
ok so did i do this right - say someone is paying $60 PP with the tax & tip its $78.21 but if the tip isnt taxed then its $77.17 - thats not a huge difference like $124 - am i right??
