I don't think too many people will notice. Maybe do a little thing of candy if you are really worried about it. Your guests are there for your wedding day, not for a favor!!

It' not tacky at all to not have favors. If it will save you money then go for it.

I went to a wedding recently at The Rainbow Room where everything was first class...apparently they didn't think it was tacky, because there was no favor

I wouldn't worry about it if I was you, it is not really a big thing. And if you really feel you need favors, check e-bay I saw some good stuff on there.

I am not doing favors either... on a very tight budget as well. Also, I think about all the weddings I've been too, and for the most part, I've thrown out most favors I've been given.... they were just cheesy.... how many matchboxes, tiny candles, bottle openers, etc. do you need??? JMO.... but if you can find something cheap, yet fun... go for it. But I definitely don't think it is rude. Actually, I am thinking if making a donation to the AMerican Cancer society and having scrolls at each place setting stating that in lieu of a favor we did a donation....

Ditto. We decided to have the centerpieces broken up by the waitstaff, wrapped in tissue and distributed amongst the female guests. They get to take home something and nothing gets wasted. Our CPs are too big and expensive to only give to a few people.

I do not think it is tacky to not have a favor. People are there for you and your FH, not for the $2 or $3 favor you are going to give them. If you are worried about it, do candy or even a place card frame. They sell some of them as cheap as 99 cents each if you want. But you do NOT even have to do that!

I don't think I've ever been to a wedding where there wasn't a favor... although I wouldn't think it would be a big deal.
I did go to a wedding where the favor was a rub off lottery ticket though - it was a fun idea and only a dollar - just a thought.

What a relief. I was embarassed to ask this question because I dont have the money to do anything really good and why bother wasting hundreds on something stupid.
Thanks for the Q&A

I have never been to a wedding without a favor, unless a donation was made instead.

I've been to plenty of weddings without favors. Most have been Jewish weddings and they don't typically give out favors.

Re: is having NO favors tacky???
In Jewish weddings, it's the opposite. Favors are considered tacky.
