to do a Mexico (Excellence Playa Mujeres) honeymoon in November? Will it be miserable and rainy the whole time?

Does the resort give any type of Hurricane insurance? I know with Sandals they will give you another trip if there is a hurricane while you are there.
My travel agent told me to stay away from mexico but you are later on in Nov. when the hurricane season is slowing down

Hmmm, good question. Fh and I want to do the Mexican Riviera for our HM...I didn't even think about the weather.

Yeah, we stupidly went to a travel agent last night who scared the hell out of us and told us that Aruba is the only place we can go to without blowing away in a hurricane.

Oh no! I can't believe she said that. I thought that October/November was pretty much the end of Hurricaine Season.

I don't think it's necessarily a death wish but I do think there's some risk. The weather could go either way during hurricane season, which is when I do most of my vacationing, but I think I've been lucky in the past.

My travel agent sort of said that too and she said that St. Lucia (which we booked) and barbados where pretty safe as well

Re: Is it a death wish
i had considered mexico myself but i have the crappiest luck when it comes to crazy things happening, that i would for sure be in the middle of a hurricane on my HM...
i would really pass on mexico... there are sooo many other nice options that are out of the belt... ABC islands - aruba, bonaire, curacao... and your def taking less of a risk than mexico is you even consider barbados.st lucia... the further south, the safer you'll be... if it were up to me, i would have gone to st lucia, but wasnt an option for us

Re: Is it a death wish
I had a friend go at the end of October on her hm to Excellence, and a few days of sun and relaxation later...they spent the next 7 days in an old boarded up school house sleeping on damp floors with no communication and no way of getting home! I say go elsewhere! They do the best they can to accommodate you, and they kept them safe, but they were miserable.

oh man what a suckfest. See this would be my luck but the place we're looking at looks sooooo nice and an 08 girl just came back there and she said it rained while she was there but nothing too bad.
