i'm not sick - but i am making myself sick thinking of all the stuff that has to get done before May 1st. This weekend coming up is my last one! We are still in the process of moving and I really can use an extra day.
But then I feel guilty - I just called in sick a couple of weeks ago and took a day of recently.
what should i do?

i say go for it and call it a 'mental' sick day-
otherwise you will make yourself crazy trying to get everything done!

start acting like you have a headache and your eyes are itchey...then call in with an alergy related illness tomorrow...very believable this time of year

Call in - you only get married once. Even if they suspect you're faking, it's pretty understandable why you need the time.

I'll play devils advocate here and say not to. Can't you just tell them you need the day off or take a 1/2 day or work through lunch and leave early?
I've done it once and spent the whole day being truly sick to my stomach because I lied. It's not worth the guilt.

How much time are you taking off for the wedding? Any days beforehand? For me I felt too guilty to call in sick the two weeks before--I took 2 days off before the wedding and then 5 after so I had a ton to take care of before leaving. If you don't have much work then it doesn't matter.

I am calling in sick tomorrow!!
My boss called in today..tomorrow is my turn.. Figured I would look for wedding shoes and hair pins and BM jewelry.

I would go for it! They know you're getting married soon and need the time to do stuff. You'll be useless at work tomorrow thinking of what you could be doing if you do go in. Just a thought!

I think it depends on how long you have been there, etc.
I wouldn't do it because I am fairly new and up for review soon....also I am swamped! Depends on the circumstances of your job IMO...

I always have that debate with myself. I never use up all my sick days, and I am entitled to them, but I do make myself sick from feeling guilty. Pathetic, I know. So take it off! Do it for me!

hey, if you're sick you're SICK!!! just make yourself believe it temporarily while you leave an awesomely convincing message - and enjoy the day accomplishing things:)
