I've heard the no scissors at the bridal shower thing too. My Mom was adamant about it at my sisters shower.

Also, supposedly if you put a statue of the virgin Mary in your window (facing outwards) it won't rain on your wedding day.

Ive heard the Virgin Mary Statue supersition before.. I believe a lot Italains do it.....my grandmother did it on my communion and graduations and no rain! Def doing it the night before the wedding!

My friend gave me her Mary that she kept in her window and her sister gave it to her... they both had BEAUTIFUL weather for their weddings! Hopefully all the luck hasn't been used up already!

The scissor thing is so true! At my friend Gina's shower one of her BM's was cutting the presents to give her a head start and cutting the ribbon for the hat and she cut her finger!!

Oh yea and the Virgin Mary thing worked for my eparty as well! Mary will definitely be in my window next July 3rd!

By the way has anyone heard about the knives on your registry being bad luck??

I always put the Virgin Mary in the window that morning - so far so good. It's never rained on a wedding in our family!!!
