Is this something that will be missed? At every wedding I've been too I can't tell you how many programs are literally tossed on the floor or left on chairs/pews.
These buggers take a lot of time and cost money. My DOC thinks it's a waste too but I wanted to double check with my girls on this. Does it look bad???

Re: Is It Bad of Me Not to Do Programs??
omg! well said Brit!
I've been dreading doing them too!! I always think to myself ' this is a waste of time and money' and noone takes them home!!!
i am on the fence.
if i am not mistaken i think an 06 bride Preshy said in her review not to waste time or money on them..
i'll have to look it up again.... but regardless Programs seems like a pain in the arse!

I'm not doing them. Don't want to waste the money, nor have the time, if I was to DIY. I do have to say though, that Darren kept his sisters. But otherwise, most people chuck em out! Save your money, and put it towards something else. Either that, or go shopping

Re: Is It Bad of Me Not to Do Programs??
crashing here
but it was so funny, when we went to my brother's wedding my whole family picked up the programs like they were poison or something - we had never seen them before!
my mom leaned over to FH at one point and said ' if people dont know this stuff they shouldnt be here' lol it was the talk of my family we thought it was so'fancy' but after that i learned that they are so popular! who knew?
i do think they are cute and NOW when i get them i appreciate them but i am too lazy, most likely not wasting time!

The plan is to do them. More because we have a full ceremony but I guess since I'm almost in crunch time we'll see....

Re: Is It Bad of Me Not to Do Programs??
I was thinking of not doing them as well. I completely agree about them being a waste of money. I feel so bad when I leave it on the pew or toss it after the wedding.
I am getting married in a Catholic church but having the short ceremony. My only concern is the bridal party and my show of appreciation. I would want to recognize the BP in some way to my guests that don't know them and show gratitude towards my parents.

I don't think it's 'bad' of you to not do programs- it's a personal preference. We will be having programs- I kinda put my sister in charge of them for me.

No I think you can do whatever you want. I went to a wedding 2 weekends ago and they did not have programs . . . I don’t think anybody missed them either. We however will be doing them.

I know we've talked about this.
As a guest, I like programs because it gives me something to read during boring wedding ceremonies and it shows me how much longer we have to sit through the agony.
they really arent that pricey esp if you do them at work :) cardstock and paper arent

Your just saying this bc you are going to be there and want to know how long you're going to have to wait before the bar is opened
I promise it's a quicky ceremony

I don't think it's bad. We aren't doing them, at least I don't think we are But anywhoo, out of all 3 weddings I went to this year, none of them had programs.

Re: Is It Bad of Me Not to Do Programs??
I did them for my July 2006 wedding, I just did the childhood sweetheart theme for a few things, so the programs were one of them. Theyre not that expensive, but its more of the time and patience at hand. My cousin helped me alot with them on the computer, but basically, uou really have to order a nice amount extra to make sure they come out all nice when you insert the program paper int the printer. It IS definitely worth the time and money. Honestly, I've only known one person that never did that, because she didn't realize until like 2 wees before the wedding, and she kinda 'ah' about it. Its just a nice way for the family and friends to know the Bp and the readings ect. I just had a ceremony, and yes it was a 1/2 hour, but my deacon was alittle 'out there' so even though he had the program infront of him, I think he messed up the order of something. Its personal preference though, I guess its just more common to have a program than not. But do whatever your heart desires! Good luck!

I think the programs are a personal choice. Some people like to have them and some dont. We are supposed to be DIYing them but Im lazy so I may not do them at all

oh yeah me 2! i love reading them at ceremonies! especially since i cant hear hald the stuff the priest/deacon says cause its so echo-ey! I love reading them. Little things like that just amaxe me and keep me very occupied! I wish I had my program in my hand during my ceremomny, since I didn't hear practicly anything the deacon said!

absolutely not. you dont have to have programs. We are doing it becuase we want to add our personal touch. If you dont have them, its not a big deal.. no worries, I am sure your guest wont even ask for them

I don't think it would be bad at all. In all honesty, in all the weddings I have been to I never really paid attention nor kept the program. My mother is making them for our wedding, but I really don't see the point.
