Is it bad that my BM's are having their dresses altered at different places?
I'm at the point where I really don't care anymore, but apparently having to go to Macy's Smithtown Mall on a Tuesday or Thursday is too inconvenient, so they're having it altered by a seamstress. I would have rather everyone had it done at one place for uniformity, but WHATEVER.
Ya think this will turn out bad?

i wouldn't worry about this at all....as long as they all have the same dress it's nothing to stress...one may have a better sewn hem than the other, but I can't imagine any of them are going somewhere that will butcher the dress beyond recognition. Don't let this be a detail you stress over!!!

Each of my girls had their dresses done at different places (even out of state) and all their dresses were beautiful!

it's annoying that they all don't just do it at the same place-- it makes everything easier but i'm SURE that they will all look fantastic!!

my cousins wedding all her girls went to diff places for alts! i wouldnt worry! Important thing is they all ordred them at the place so the dye lot is the same!!

Mine are too! It was just too crazy. I have 3 in CT and 1 in TX. It was just easier! Don't worry about it.

Mine are all going to different places too. I'm a little worried about the bustle not being placed in the right spot for each dress. I can't stress though!!

its not a problem. my girls had their dresses altered at different places, and I was just in a wedding this past friday and a few of us had dresses altered at different places.

I wouldn't stress over this one.
It probably is easier/more convenient for the girls to get them altered closer to home or work. They will look lovely on your wedding day. Don;t fret this one.

two of mine got them done at different places and from what I have seen and heard it is fine. you can't tell they were done at different places.

All my BM lived in different states, so obviously they went to different places. They all looked great!

mine all got theirs done at different places...if the girls are not all from the same place (which mine werent...and coming to LI was difficult) then letting them go wherever they want is fine...no one could tell the difference. ..although I know one girl (who is EXTREMELY thin) paid a ridiculous amount of money for her alterations-but that was the only difference

Not at all! Don't worry! I have one BM that lives in VA and she is having her alts done there. Just be specific on what you want done and it shouldn't be a problem.

I live in NC, so I ordered the dresses down here (cheaper) and will ship them up to my girls. They are on their own for the alterations. Some are on LI, some in NYC, and one in Delaware. I don't think it is a big deal...as long as they all fit nice.

Let's see, one of my BM lives in Arizona and had her dress altered to fit to perfection there. One of my BM lives in Virginia, but b/c the dress was ordered in the wrong size there wasn't much that could be done, although the bridal shop (in NY that ordered the wrong size) attempted something which totally screwed up the dress and all their 'alterations' had to be undone. My MOH decided that she likes the dress 'loose' instead of form fitting and told the salon here in New York to just fix the straps and the hem.
As a result, I have one girl perfectly fitted, and two that are not.

Personally I think its fine if tehy go somewhere else.. If ther eis a certain requirement let the girsl know. One of my girls had her dress fixed in Seattle and the other by her mother. They all looked the same. I told them that for length I just wanted the tip of the shoes to show.

i had 4 bm's including my moh and only 2 used burtons for alterations. it all worked out fine.
