Is it ever too soon to....

Is it ever too soon to....

Go register for a bridal registry. I was very adamant about having a bridal shower, however my girls will not have it! And I understand and truthfully I'm happy now of having one. I agreed to it and wanted it to be a surprise however my MOH kinda let the cat out of the bag and mentioned that we would be having a bridal shower and she was wondering if I was ok with having it at her new home. Truthfully I am ok with it because I feel it will be more intimate. On that note, I know I will be having it at her home but don't know when. My question to you is it too soon to go now?

Go for it! We did ours pretty early and we were definitely glad we did because we after we started it we did change things. Just keep in mind that you probably will register for items that could be discontinued by the time your shower comes. If you do register now be sure to keep an eye out on on your registry to keep it current.

I'm regretting registering so late!! My shower is in either July our August....my mother is on my case about it not being done!! I say sooner the better!!

The earlier the better! People will use if for engagement parties, shower, housewarming, and it allows you time to change it. Usually couples go first and add the $2000 crockpot that they know they'll never use. If you do it with time you can change that to the $80 one that you can actually cook with.

We are getting married next year (11/27/15) I will prob start to register towards the end of this upcoming winter. This way it leaves enough time, but the stuff is relatively recent. I don't want to register for things and then it become discontinued bc it was so far out

So I did mine 11 months early. On one hand, it was done early so I didn't have that to worry about on top of other wedding stuff. On the other hand, many of my items went out of stock/season and I ended up having to frequently review and reregister. I found this amazing casual china set that I didn't realize was ridiculously cheap. Well, by the time my shower rolled around they were out of stock, my heart was set on them, and so were my bridesmaids who were wowed by the price and planning to buy everything! I had to find another set which is great, but not that one that I loved. And it was double the price. Sigh...

I didn't think I needed to do mine until like...6 months before the wedding, but people starting asking before our engagement party! I guess it makes sense, and makes it easier for everyone for all the pre-wedding events if you have a registry already set up. Just keep an eye on it to make sure nothing gets sold out or discontinued!

I am just doing the Macys Dream registry so I think I am good whenever it is.

Dream fund is an option on the Macys registry where guests can contribute a certain dollar amount to a gift card

You can also ask them to put specifics on the dream fund- for example, something like 'help us contribute to our bedroom furniture set'
