Re: Is it impt that your friends like FH/DH?
I think in the beginning it matters more. I think friends have more of an impression on who you choose to be with in the beginning of a relationship. You ask them for advise and you see how they interact with him.
It isn't an issue for me though because all of my friends LOVE Mike. Thanks god for that, I don't think I would be able to deal otherwise.

i think it doesn't but it does....it doesn't b/c they don't have to go out and marry the guy but it does b/c its hard and usually causes problems in either your friendship or relationship - i am lucky that all my friends like mike too!

It is important to me...but if they didnt then I would find a way to get over it. Thankfully they all adore him and we all have a great time together!

Yes it is important to an extent. I would not let it rule my life, but it would be an obvious concern of mine, meaning I would not dump him if my friends did not like him.

I guess if my best friend had issues with DH then I would want to know why- I mean, she is someone whose opinion I respect and I would listen to her closely and yes, i want everyone to get along. But I doubt I would base any life decisons on other people.

Re: Is it impt that your friends like FH/DH?
It is important to me. I was in a relationship where everyone hated my boyfriend, and it made things very uncomfortable. It made it hard to do anything, and going out became a chore. It got to the point where I started to hate him because I finally saw a lot of what my friends were seeing in him. He was a socially inept ******* to be honest. LOL.
I love that my friends love my husband!

Its important to me but I really have never thought about it much. Usually my friends love my DH more than me.

Yes its important.
John & I have seperate groups of friends, mine & his, and we have friends that are both ours also and yes it's important that my friends like my husband because we do so much together.
I also love it that my DH is so sociable & will hang with me & my friends if i want him too.

I think it's important to a degree - I respect the opinions of my friends and would want to know if they didn't like someone I was dating. But I didn't have this problem - everyone loves Chris.
If I did have a friend that didn't like him...I wouldn't let it rule my life. I would keep them seperate.

Well it is fairly important that they like him only b/c we all go out - usually my gfs insist that I bring him along (he is rather quiet the first time or two he meets someone until he gets to know them then he really opens up) I have never had a friend dislike him - and the same works with his friends - we all go out together so it works perfectly

I only have 1 friend that doesn't like Matt and that is his fault! He made her feel bad about some choices but what he really meant to do was let her know she could do better. It is a mess but I try to work around it. Matt has since learned to keep his mouth shut!

Re: Is it impt that your friends like FH/DH?
I think if your friends DONT like your husband, or even BF it can cause problems, more for the friendship than your relationship.
My best friend started seeing a guy that got her into drugs, big time. He also put her down, pushed her around and threw her out of the house. Maybe it's me, but I just couldn't warm up to this guy!!!
She knew how I felt, even though I only mentioned it once. She would come to me for advice, and I'd be honest and tell her she needed to get out of there.
Well, I guess she didn't want to hear that, so she started avoiding me, hiding her life from me and basically the friendship started to die from neglect.
When I met DH it got worse, because she saw what a wonderful man he is, and when I got engaged, that really put her in a tailspin. She was with her BF for 4 years and there was no indication of a ring in the future. I was engaged 18 months after meeting my DH.
Jeez, you think if she was that miserable she would have dumped the guy instead of her best friend???
Whatever.....
So, while you can't please everybody, and some friends will like your DH and others won't, it really comes down to the friendship itself, and if it can stand up to the differences.
thank goodness that everyone loves DH...I don't know anyone who doesn't...
but DH's friend and I don't get along...but thats mostly his wife's doing...she asked DH to break up with me...and she said she would break up with the friend if they could get together!!!
so now DH's friend doesn't like me, b/c his wife won't let him go out with us (at least when we were in NY)

They can hate him if they want, I really don't care (they all love him), just as long as they are nice to him. I dropped a friend flat on her face because she was such a BITCH to JT for no reason at all. He has to be the NICEST person in the world, and he would go out of his way to be nice to her. She was just jealous. Didn't need her anyway.
