Wow...I thought that I had a long engagement. It will be a year and a half by the time we get married.

yeah, we'll be engage for 2 years and 3 months by the time I actually walk down the aisle... it'll be worth it!!

It will be just short of 3 years by the time we get married. Sometimes that's just how it works out!

Just curious....why did you guys have such a long engagement?

I'm in grad school right now and I wanted to wait until I graduated in May 2007.

well, my FH is in med school so we wanted to wait for him to graduate. So he graduate May 07, getting married in June and then starting residency in July - it should be a fun (stressful) 3 months!!

I'll be engaged 2 yrs, 7 months when I get married!

We needed time to save $ - not only for the wedding, but for life AFTER the wedding, AND I graduate May 07, FH will hopefully have his masters by Aug 07... It's worth the wait.

I'm in a similar position to you - we got engaged senior year of college, and now I'm in grad school, so we're waiting until I can finish school and get a job so that I can have enough income to support myself and move out of my parents' house before we get married. I refuse to rely on him for financial support, especially while he too is still just starting out, and I'm definitely not interested in living in my parents' attic or something after we're married!

We are paying for the enitre wedding ourselves and we wanted a big wedding bash. We basically had to start saving from $0. We also knew we want to get married in 07 and September seemed like a perfect month.

We have a long engagment as well...financial reasons as well as living situation.

I'm glad we have as much time as we do I stress easily and I feel like planning is going very well all spread out like it is. Plus I have a lot more done than I had originally planned.

We will be engaged for 2 years (23 months) when we get married.

We are paying for most of the wedding and would like to buy a house (and go to Hawaii for our HM) so that is why we are waiting so long. Because of $$$$$.

I thought mine was long too, it will be 1 yr and 11 months so almost two years by the wedding

Mine will be long too...we will be getting married after 2 years and 1 month of being engaged. I didn't want to rush with plans to have it this December with working and going to grad school, I felt planning on a wedding on top of that would have been too stressful. I'm enjoying that I can take my time figuring everything out.
