I am just starting my gown shopping and it seems every dress I love is $2000 and up! How the heck do some of you girls pay for those gorgeous dresses you wear?!?!

They shop the trunk shows or they go to Davids Bridal. It is ridiculous the prices for a dress for one day.

thanks! Today's heart wrencher was a Renella De Fina Couture gown I absolutely love but is $3500! I just can't justify spending that much on one dress! *sigh* I hope I find one that can compare, but with a much lower price tag....

Well, where are you looking? A lot of Maggie Soterro dresses are under $1500... I don't think I tried on any dresses over 2K...try some more stores, and when you get there if they ask about you budget, tell them 500 under what your max is... see how that works... good luck!

Let me put it in perspective for you...how many other days in your life will all eyes be on you and only you??? If you love the dress and you can afford it...go for it. I was really surprised at the cost of my dress but I loved it and it was my favorite part of the wedding and I have no regrets. Good luck with finding your perfect dress.

Call gownfind.com to see if you can get a better price on the dress. That's what I did and I saved a ton!!!

Gowns can be expensive. Try to go to the trunk shows or even order them on line. I think a lot of girls order theirs from Gownfind.com. You could always negotiate the price as well!!! I would say there's a about 10% flexibility.

I would try gownfind or an online site (of course try the dress on in the store first). If that doesn't work, then just keep looking...you will find something you love in your price range. Of course it is really important and you should love it, but don't go broke over it!

Gowns can be a lot of money. thank goodness mine is $1100.00 from Macy's Bridal Salon. it was originally $1350 but b/c i got it at a trunk show I saved some money. Demetrios has a lot of dresses under $1500. Are there any of those you like?

I felt the same exact way! I found my dress at the Bridal Suite of Huntington for just under 1000, and the Wedding Center in Commack is pretty reasonable too!

When you go to bridal stores tell the attendant helping you what your budget is. They will gear you in the right direction. Even though I did not get my dress here there is a place in Rocky Point that has two areas which have really expensive dresses in one room and less expensive dresses in the other room. HTH

this is where i got my dress. great prices, great customer service. take a look at their website.
i highly recommend them. just make sure your read their return/exchange policy well... nothing tricky, just that you have only three days to send dress back, so you can't waste time
my dress cost $350 including shipping

Macy's, Lillettes in Baldwin and Bridal Reflections are three good places to find a dress under 2K. It just means you must have nice taste!! good luck! RKBRIDAL.com, they have a store in NYC, it is also a good place to find your dream gown for a lower price, but I found their alteration cap to be a bit high.
