All I've been doing lately is chemistry and making plans for Hawaii (23 days!... it's for a conference, so technically it's a 'business trip'. but FH is meeting me there). Anyone been to Maui or Oahu?

And MARA let us know how it goes tonight! I'm thinking I should check Pedestals out this Spring.. still undecided though because when I see them at the showcase, they have these HUGE extravagent centerpieces.. or trees.. not sure which they are supposed to be..

I definitely will let you know. I went to Flowers by Brian and I really liked them (and they were in my budget). I am also going to Spitz & Peck on Saturday. My plan is to hoprefully pick from one of them by the end of the month.

And yes... working stinks! My job requires no thought, so I'm happy to get my homework done, but the day is just going by sooo slowly due to the decrease in LIW activity...

Mara, how was flowers by Brian? If you have down time (just a suggestion...) You should do a post on the flowers you are looking for, how much of everything you need, add some pictures and everything....

I really liked Flowers by Brian. I met with Cindy and she really helped me come up with some ideas to bring together my vision.

I am doing a Mets theme for our wedding but at the same time I do not want it to be Welcome to Citifield when you come into the reception.

I am going to have blue hydrangeas, bright orange, bright pink and bright yellow roses.

In my bouqut I am going to do pretty much all white with a hint of the blue.

I need the following:

14 centerpieces - high
my boq
7 bridesmaid/moh
7 groomsman
my mom and dad
decorating cake

Flower by Brian came out to about $3,000 (including tax). This is before I negotiated anything. I wanted to meet with all of the places and see who I liked best and then get them to add more into it.

For 14 high centerpieces and all that, that's a good price! My quotew was around there, but I had 20 centerpieces, which were low. Maybe that's average?

I did an average quote and then figured 10 per table... I could add/aubtract from there. In the end, guess a little more because when it comes closer.. you can adjust. ... as long as it isn't the last minute.

I did not think the price was amazing but it was not out of this world either. I figure that I will at least be able to get them to come down $10 or so per centerpiece which would be a little bit.
