did everyone else get depressed about their wedding day being over? Since the day after and even still I'm so sad that my wedding day is OVER. I will never have another wedding again and to me thats sad. Something I have dreamed of since a little girl. Something I've waited my whole life for...something I've been planning my whole like-and now it's over. A year of hard core planning and lots of money ...and it's over and gone...like that!
Ugh. I hate to rant...I'm so happy I'm married, don't think that. Its just the whole my wedding is over thing...its hard for me to swallow.
I love my DH, I loved my wedding day and I love being a Mrs...but I sure am sad and I want it to go away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hang in there, the post wedding depression fades, and new things like houses and babies start to occupy your mind!

that feeling will go away slowly... You have the attention on you for a year-however long you planned-and then that wonderful day comes...and then boom its over.... At least the Bride and Groom get to go away and its lasts longer, (I know my mom was sad after the wedding too) and then you get back, and a few people ask, how was it...but then that stops... so the sadness, I would say-completely normal! BUT, it goes away-you have to let it go away-plan vacations, look for a house if you dont have one, decorate, cook, take a class, make babies or at least practice Have fun being married

Re: Is it just me or...
I think Im one of the few who isn't depressed that my wedding is over. I think that I put so such time & thought.. and spent so many hours planning the day that I was at a point that I was living, breathing, eating wedding- WEDDING WEDDING WEDDING!! Everything in my life revolved around that one day. It started to take a toll on me... It affected my behavior, my job performance at work, my personal life- everything. It just seemed like my head was always in a cloud. If it was not one thing I was worrying about, it was another. It was definately the most stressful time of my life!
What I am trying to say is that I am totally done!! I compare my wedding planning experience to a song consistantly played on the radio. You love it at first, but after a while, it just starts to get old and then just downright annoying to the point where you get frustrated & turn the station!! My last few weeks leading up to the big day were the most craziest days of my life-I got to a point where I just wanted to skip through the whole wedding & get on a plane to Aruba for my honeymoon- just to escape the madness!!!
So with that said... Im happy my wedding is over. Although my planning days were stressful as he!!, it was bittersweet & it was an experience I wouldn't change for the world! That chapter of my life is over and now I am looking into all the wonderful things to come after the wedding, like buying a house and having babies. One day you will feel the same way- believe me. Im happy my wedding is over-- Good riddens.. No more planning for me

Beautifully said. I could have written this word for word....I was so sick of thinking and planning about the wedding ALL the time that I was RELIEVED when it was over. It went off without a hitch, and I am thankful for that....but I am just so glad that I never have to stress over another event like that ever again.

Re: Is it just me or...
In all honesty I'm just really happy to be married. Think about it girls, no more fights with the inlaws/parents over minor wedding things. No issues with the BP over what to wear or when/where the wedding takes place. No more dealing with vendors, no more beating a tight budget, no more dealing with the large amounts of stress of a wedding. I'm so glad mine is over!!! Now its time to look at pictures, go shopping for things you need or want for your life not a day, to relax and not stress out if you gained a few pounds from that slice of cake. I'm loving it!!! Come girls, isn't it great to be married!!!

I feel the same way. I thought I would feel the post wedding blues, but never did. I was just so happy to have my life back, and not to have all my thoughts consumed with WEDDING!

I felt the same way but slowly it fades and you finally feel normal again. Trust me I fell into a major depression (got married on Saturday, DH back to work on Tuesday, I went back Wed, HM not till May). I felt so depressed but DH did try to make me feel better. Sad to say on the Sunday after our wedding I put on my dress and cried like a baby 'I'll never be a bride again'. Luckily DH didn't divorce me on the spot....

Haha! Im that same way. I stood in front of the mirror holding my beautiful dress and tears rolled down my cheeks. I do NOT miss the planning, at all!! I dont really miss anything to do with the weddings. Just the fact that I'm 20...Im married and I will NEVER get to do it again. I just want to wear my dress and say my vows, enjoy the reception and the HM...but never again.
However, like some of you said...its a chapter in your life and then its over. Wich if fine...maybe I will just go have a baby...more less, practice

I could not wait for it to be over, since the last few weeks were very busy, but now I kinda miss it, it is sad, but I realize now that this is just the start of my new life with my husband and that some people never will get the chance to get married or find that one true love.

I was so glad when it was all over. To me, the excitement I felt was about being married, not the wedding.
I was excited to get a house and have a baby.

I think a baby totally helps you get over the wedding withdrawal...hehe
