He texted me last night to say

'If I pay for my GF's plate, can she come with me to the wedding? I'd really like for her to be there.'

I'm SPEECHLESS

...have you had people invite themselves with a guest even though you didn't write 'and guest' on the envelope?

FH and I invited a guy who introduced us - neither of us have spoken to him in 2+ years. We invited him to be nice and he wrote in '+1' with some chic's name on the response.

I got the card & sent him to a text to say 'got ur RSVP today! So glad you're coming but we unfortunately r over our guest # & didnt invite people w/dates because we dont have room. I hope u understand'

He responded 'she was already expecting to go... i never heard of not letting people bring a girlfriend.. what about ___(groomsman) bringing his girlfriend and ___(groomsman) bringing his girlfriend?'

I just replied 'I'm sorry but people weren't invited with guests unless they were in the bridal party or married. Pls let me know if you're still able to make it'

what I wanted to say was 'WHY ARE YOU CAUSING ME STRESS??'

anyone else having this experience?

i haven't sent out invites yet but i'm sure i will be going thru that. a lot of ppl are ballsy when it comes to that.

FH would literally tell the guy to take a hike if he knew he wrote that. He doesn't even like the guy - and neither of us were really friends with him... he's HS friends with FH's buddy & I worked with him a few years ago.

I think I'm still in shock that he had the audacity to ask me about my other guests' guests.

well i am having adults only recdeption and i am getting back replies with 2 adults + 1 child /??!!!!! are you kidding me !!!! you were invited Mr & Mrs no where did i say and kid .. i am trying my hardest not to let it get to me but i just can't believe people are like that .. UGH

To let people know kids & guests weren't invited I addressed the envelopes & the inner envelope just to them. So my uncle replies with a '?' in the will attend spot. My mom calls him & he says 'I wasn't sure how many people I was replying for?' What the F**k ?!?! He wants to bring his son....my mom told him 'NO' !! Some people don't get it !

Wow!!! That is just so rude of him to do that. We have not sent out our invitations yet but I am sure that we will be facing the same situation. We are going to have to put our foot down.

yes that happened to me. A couple of FH's friends have gotten married last year, but are already seperated. We went to their weddings. I did not want to invite them with a guest (b/c they are prob gonna bring the girl who broke up the marriage) and so far one has responded with a guest. A couple of other single men I invited solo due to the fact we are way over our limit and I do not want random people at my wedding and all 5 of them included a guest.

I know once someone is over 21 it is rude to not invite them with a guest just bc they are not in a blissful relationship, but I tried to cut my numbers. Too bad it didn't work!
