Are people going for hair/makeup trials very early on these sites. I don't understand the point of going for a trial like 10 months before your wedding.
I plan on going like 2 months before.

I was going to do that to---but when I called around asking for prices--the make-up artists were all booked for my day--that is why I have one of mine set for the 14th----I don't want to not have someone.

i already had my makeup trial but only bc i wanted to book the person (bc she books fast) i willl have my hair trial with her much closer to the wedding

There is no gaurentee if you go two months before.
I wanted to Pedala and she was already booked for my date in September...

i went for my makeup trial and didn't book, two weeks later i wanted to come in for a second trial with the same person and she was already taken for my date
then when i tried to search for another makeup person, 2 of my other choices were already booked..and i'm getting married at the end of march..not even near peak season!

because people get booked up. i already called someone i wanted and they are booked on my date and most girls dont want to book and then wait til 2 months before to have their trial

Yea people book trials to see who they like the best and to make sure they book with the person they want. Once you book you can book another trial closer to the wedding date.

I got my trial in Sept and my wedd is not till next June. Good thing I got it out of my way, I can visualize how I will look on my dress when going to dress fittings and headpiece shopping, veils, etc

I went for mine 3 months ahead of time, but I wish I had gone way ahead of time, because when I went to book certain people they were already booked!

I was going to go for mine soon .. but my hairdresser is going to do my hair, I have no worries since she has done my hair for several wedding I have been in recently, so I really don't need to go for a trial yet. I am getting my hair dyed on Sat. and I will book her then, but I will start going for trials in the summer most likely.
Amd my makeup lady ... I have someone in mind, I work with her a lot because I work at a prod co. and she is our regular makeup lady for shoots ... but I do nopt know if I will like her, so I will probably book a trial with her in Dec or Jan ... depending on funds :)
But I know both will pretty much be free for my wedding since they are not popular among brides ... but if you are thinking of getting a popular hair/makeup person, I would start looking now.

I wasn't planning on going till like February for my May wedding but it seems like everyone is booking so early!! I'm afraid everyone will be taken!

if i would've waited 2 months before the wedding then i wouldnt be able to hire the hair and make up artists that i really wanted...i didnt get a trial so early bc i want to perfect my hair for the wedding a year in advance, i went for one reason and that was just so i can book the people i really wanted to do it.

I think its normal. They want to book certain very popular vendors and they have to do it far in advance.

I think with the internet, and people booking things in advance, its kinda impossible to book someone 2 months in advance, when they may not be available.
I still have not had a trial, i am 7 months out, but over the next 2 months i am booking someone.
The sooner you get a trial the sooner you can book, and lock someone in for your date
