FH and I are seriously reconsidering it lately.. I decided to be open minded about looking into different venues.. (if and only if i can get my deposit back)
WELL the place where his sis got married offered to match our contract to the T.. and the place is gorg. Originally the reasons we didnt pick it were because we got way more at our current rh, the location is way to far for my family, and I didnt want to be married at the same place as his sis.
Am i wrong? Is that stupid to not want to married at the same place?

i understand where you're coming from. I would probably be the same way. Which place do you love more though? If you don't like your current RH as much, but you don't want to get married at FSIL's RH, I would keep looking. It sounds like you aren't thrilled with your choice...so maybe keep looking until you find something that tops your FSIL's place and your current place?

well the problem is that my current place I do LOVE, I LOVE LOVE.. but i hear so many mixed things about it that it really has changed my mind!! people either love it or hate it.. now im finding all kinds of flaws with it! But the #1 thing is we are getting the HOOK UP!!! my mom knows someone there and we are getting everything and the kitchen sink. No place can top it! But SIL's place has a stellar reputation and is going to match our contract soup to nuts.

i hear you, I cut down a place where my FH's parents had their 30th anniversary party recently. If you are really considering changing your RH maybe you should look at a couple of more places before deciding on yoru FSIL hall. All in all its your wedding so its going to be special no matter what, even if its at the same RH as yoru FSIL.

i don't think it stupid - i wouldn't want to get married at the same place as my FSIL did so i totally understand where you're coming from. but if you're having doubts about your current RH, you and your FH should sit down and consider the pros and cons of switching/keeping RH's

I feel your pain. Honestly I would never get married at the same place as FBIL. I would just think everyone would compare my wedding to his. I wouldn't want that.

As far as getting the deposit back, I dont know how it works in nassau county but there is a law in suffolk where if you cancel within a certain number of days before the event, you are entitled to your money back.

yeah, I totally agree I would not want to get married at the same place either. Did you look at all possible places or did you book with your RH cause they gave you a hook up? Maybe another RH would match the deal you got from your RH.

i thought i looked at alot of places, then i signed on here and was mistaken !!!
I fell in love with the place, THEN i realized my mom knew someone and THEN i got the hook up.. so that wasnt the reason why.
I 100% blame you girls and this website for my indecisiveness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! too many ideas!!!!! hehe

I totally understand where you are coming from. I don't know if I would necessarily want to have our wedding at the same place my FBIL or SIL got married especially if they were not that far apart.
But the most important thing is that you and your FH are HAPPY with your choice in RH! I went through a period where I was second guessing my decision too.

I agree with the other girls I don't think I would want to get married at the same place as my sister, depending on when she got married of course, if it was years ago and I love, love, love the place then maybe I would reconsider.

I completely understand! But when we were looking, I was getting really frustrated because I didn't want to go to any place that I had been to a wedding (and they were alll sooo good!). So I had a hard time finding a place.
