IS IT NORMAL TO PAY FOR YOUR DRESS IN FULL WHEN ORDERING IT???
I was told that because the place i am ordering my dress from is discounting it so much that they want the dress fully paid for when you order it. Does that sound normal to everyone? what did you have to do? is there suppose to be a guarantee in my contract saying that if my dress comes in damaged or not in time that i will get my money back? I am just alil nervous because this seems alil weid to me. Do a lot of bridal stores make you pay in full...please let me know your experiences..oh and also i have 8 months til my wedding will a maggie dress come in with time for alterations???

I had to put half down on my dress. I was told my Maggie would take 9mts to come in.

Every store I looked at so far about 4 all said I needed to put down 1/2 for them to order than the rest when it comes in
I have heard that David's Bridal makes you pay for the dress in full
As for if that is enough time not 100% sure but I think you can put a rush on it if you are nervous

its a maggie dress thats about $1200 they are givng to me for $800 ..thats why they want the money in full but now i am scared..but thats a lot of money to save so i dunno

Did you ask them about if the dress was damaged on arrival? I would call and ask them I would assume you would get a refund but if the dress takes so long to come in you may not have too many options after that.
Do they offer rush shipping?

not sure...they are like 35-40 min from my house i really dont wanna drive out there and then feel the contract is shady..do you think i can ask these questions on the phone??i don't know what to do

im also running out of time here..i have 8 months left and didn't order yet..i feel so freaked out that i am not gonna have my dress in time

I would definately call them in the morning..it doesn't make sense if you could not get a refund or rush order from them

Then I would just call to find out about rushing it & if it comes it damaged (though I have not heard of anyone's dress coming in damaged)
Also, places usually tell you longer than it actually takes to get the dress in..to be on the safe side I guess

I was told I could put half down and pay once price, or put all of it down and get a big discount, so I put it all down. They told us places do it that way because some girls call off their weddings and never want the dress, so don't pay it off, and other girls have 'dress regret' and decide on something else.

I got mine at David's Bridal. If I wanted the exact one I tried on from the rack, I could pay it off in 60 days. If I wanted them to order me a fresh one (which I did), I had to pay in full.
My dress was under $500, so I was prepared to do it, but the dress regret thing definitely makes sense. If I hadn't Paid in Full, I might have changed my mind. I'm keeping it (I think!, lol), but yeah, I paid in full on the day. And, it came in in just a week.

I paid for half when I ordered it. 1/4 at my first fitting, and the balance when I picked it up. That was at Pronovias in the city.
But my BMs had the same deal at Helens.
I wouldn't put it all down, I think thats asking for trouble.

i believe i put down 60% of the dress at the time of order. I think 8 months should be enough time for yours to come in. Def call and make sure though!

just go there and go over the contract with them in person and ask questions about if the dress comes in damaged or if you can put a rush on the order. that's the best bet. my mom paid for my dress in full and it came in a few weeks and it is perfect.
