is it ok if a guest

wears a color similar to what the bridesmaids will be wearing? My bridesmaids are wearing mocha, and the best man wants to bring a date and she asked what color should she wear b/c she wants to match him... The tuxs are black and the vest and tie are mocha..

TIA

As long as she doesn't wear white I wouldn't sweat it.

well my BMs are wearing black and so will half of the guests im sure....i honestly don't think it really matters, no matter what someone will probably be in a similar color.

exactly - who cares if guests match the BMs .... as long as they don't match you

Our best mans fiance wore the same color teal that my girls wore... Im guessing she matched it up to the BM's tie that I bought him purposely to match my girls dresses... I was fuming... Of all colors, thats what she picked...

I was a guest to a wedding once and didn't know or think about what colors the BMs would be in and I matched them on accident and felt RETARDED

If your date is IN the wedding, why would you want to match the bridal party? It's not about you, and it's not prom!

I mean its kind of annoying that shes purposely trying to match...its like if you wanted her to look like a bm you would have asked her! but ... what can really be done?

Not sure where they got this from but a couple of people in FH's family have it in there head that they are suppose to match the BP.

is she going to prom? who still matches what their bf's wear

I wouldn't care about that. There could be other people who come and could end up wearing the same color as the bm's. Its no big deal as long as they're not wearing white or ivory imo

Her dress more than likely won't look bridesmaid-ish. And mocha/browns are common (like black) so she probably won't stand out as the only guest with the same color on as the bridesmaids. She probably just wants to look nice in pictures she takes with her date. Now if your colors were like yellow or fushia that would be different. Don't sweat it.

I don't think that matters at all. I say let her wear what she wants.

Re: is it ok if a guest

When my fiance and I go to weddings, sweet 16's..etc, we often try to 'somewhat match'.. even if its just his tie to my dress.. its understandable bc it looks nice in pictures ..

HOWEVER.. she knows he is in the BP and is deliberately matching the bm.. i would b annoyed that she is making it so obvious.. she could wear a similar shade so they dnt clash but the same shade would b odd like hello u are not in the party!!

With that said.. the dress will not be the exact same dress .. and its unlikely that the color will be a perfect match so im sure she wil not b mistaken for a BM.. let her b the one to feel weird when ppl look at her
