Is it only me, or does anyone else wish they would have eloped???
FH and I wanted to go away and get married and have a very small ceremony and than come home and throw a huge (casual) bash and his parents (not mine) had a flipping fit. So we ended up planning a dream wedding that wasn't ours and spent every dime we have.
Now with 2 1/2 months to go, mucho stress, over the top drama, I hope at the end of our wedding day, I don't regret sticking to my guns and having the wedding I truly wanted.

Re: Is it only me????
towards the end I was super stressed and kept saying I just wanted to run off to Vegas to elope. Once the wedding day came it was all 100% worth it. Everything was amazing and it was the best day of my life.......hands down!
hang in there...you are almost there!

I think about this every flipping day...with 3 days to go..I still regret having this big wedding. I'll make the best of it and try not to kill my mother-in law in the meantime.
Me and FH have never fought so much in our lives...ugh

Re: Is it only me????
YEP, my dad offered to pay for immediate family's flights to go to vegas. it was my FH that insisted on having a big wedding or else his parents would be upset.
and we are spending every dime we have
and i wanna tear my hair out.
hopefully though, it will be worth it. i just wish i had the money to have someone plan this for me and do the run-around i had been doing in the past month.
hang in there.

Re: Is it only me????
I was just saying that same thing last night... there's been a ton of stress and drama lately and i just don't know if having this 'dream wedding' (which is not my dream at all) worth it. it's just a party so why does it have to be so freakin' difficult!?
anyway, i think once all the planning is over and we're able to just sit back and enjoy the day, it'll have been worth it.

I just feel like his parents didn't understand that it isn't about the wedding (like it was for FSIL), but its about the marriage. I would be just as happy at City Hall as my RH!!!! Plus, I would have had a house already!!! At this rate, we will be living in our cars after the wedding.

I just believe that the drama and stress is worth it, ONLY if it is the day you want. I just hope I don't regret my decision and my hair falling out in clumps and my negative bank account weren't in vein.

US EITHER!!!! He keeps asking when he is going to get his fiance back! I told him 9/13. But they do say the true test a relationship, isn't living together, but wedding planning. Meshing the two family and everything else. And if you survive this, you will survive anything. I just don't know if my FMIL or FSIL will survive if I lose it. LOLOLOL

That was exactly what I wanted to do go away get married and have a huge backyard bash but FMIL was not okay with it because it is her only son and she needs to show off to people, but with our money

Re: Is it only me????
Whenever someone gets engaged I say 'Congrats!!! You should really think about eloping'
While I think my wedding will be beautiful and I am excited for it and I wouldn't trade it...its so much freakin work for one darn day.
