Is it only me, or does anyone else wish they would have eloped???
FH and I wanted to go away and get married and have a very small ceremony and than come home and throw a huge (casual) bash and his parents (not mine) had a flipping fit. So we ended up planning a dream wedding that wasn't ours and spent every dime we have.
Now with 2 1/2 months to go, mucho stress, over the top drama, I hope at the end of our wedding day, I don't regret sticking to my guns and having the wedding I truly wanted.

That was exactly what I wanted to do go away get married and have a huge backyard bash but FMIL was not okay with it because it is her only son and she needs to show off to people, but with our money
I sure hope not or you have alot more in store for you lol...like if you decide to breast feed you are being selfish and you have to find out the sex of the baby because you can't keep us in the dark about that, and the list goes on
Do we have the same FMIL???

OMG!!!! That's awful!!! FH has a cousin who is overly religious and yells at people all the time saying that birth control is the devil and I am the devil...LOL She's like the Mom from Waterboy. She would probably try to push breastfeeding. She may try to feed any future children herself. Families make life so hectic...well other peoples families.

I was just thinking that. I get sick over the money we're spending (wasting?) on this.

I think I've said that more over the past 2 month and I've never wanted that before. I would be a lot less stressed (and have a lot more money in the bank) if we would have just gotten married on a nice warm beach in Jamaica. I'm sure I'm going to have an amazing day and not regret anything but that's definitely how I feel right now.

Re: Is it only me????
This is been our thought for the week. We've been so stresed over everything and we said, wow, we should just elope. Unfortunately we've put too much $$$ in to go back now!
We're all with you.

Re: Is it only me????
I took a date only five months away that my hall recommended to get the lowest possible price- I was wide open and asked them to fit me in. So I have a last second deal- but I'm squeezing what people take a year or two to plan into only 5 months!!!
I am saving tons of money EVERY way I can- and I know that it's just one day.
I STILL I feel all the same things that you girls do.
It's crazy how many other things all this cash could be spent on.
Ahhh the wedding industry-
I say we all get together after we're all married and open a reception hall.
We could each design a room- and we could seriously CASH in on people their DREAMS!!!
