Is it possible...

To book a photographer and videographer for around 4500? A good one? I've gotten one quote that's within that range, but I like options. Any suggestions?

(If you think it's impossible, feel free to say that too...).

I don't think it's impossible...

my package for photo and video is $5500... but I'm sure you could make some cuts here and there, and get the price down!

Have you tried Velvet Studio?

My package includes:

11x11 storybook album with 100 photos
minibook (exact miniature replica of your album)
2 5x7 albums for parents
100 thank yous
1 16x20
3 8x10
2 5x7
all proofs and negatives (at least 500)
all proofs on CD
2 photographers
free engagement session with proofs on CD

thats 4000.

i'm also getting video with them... you get 3 edited DVDs and 1 copy of the unedited footage on DVD also...

the total for photo + video is 5500.

mine was less $$ than that... i'm still waiting to see the final product before i'm willing to recomend them. but dh loved the way they worked on our wedding day

DUET is booked! I called Arianna and Duval and will check them out prob next week. Think Patken would work with me? They're affiliated with my CH. Anyone hear anything about Michael O'Neil (Candid Like Life)? What about Gray Studios?

I'm calling a year and a half in advance, and they're already booked? Lol my FH thinks I'm a little obsessive since I'm calling places now, but apparently I'm not so crazy!

Yes. They will work with your budget. Just tell them how much you want to spend and they will work soemthing out for you.

we booked them separately for that reason. our photographer was $3000 and the video was $1300. If we booked both with the photographer they quoted us at $5900!! So that may be something to think about too. We used ADA for photo, and Bill at BlueSky for video. THey are both great to work with!

Mine is actually a lot less than that, mainly because I'll be getting my photos on a disk and making my own prints rather than opting for a package. I'm putting a lot more $ into the video, which will be full-day documentary style. I'm a lot more concerned with getting lots of coverage and lots of pics to choose from, rather than '2 8x10 of this' and '1 album of that.'

So yes, I think it's possible, especially if you forgo some of the frills. Good luck!
