I'm currently on South Beach. I'm weighing in for the first time tomorrow. I just have to work on getting to the gym.

I think 30 pounds is more reasonable. You will be beautiful if you are 160 pounds the way you are.

I am sure it is possible. Please please please make the decision to do it the right way!!! WW is a great eating plan and workout is key! I would get a workout buddy if you could. I am always more motivated to do anything if I have a friend to support me!
I wish you the best!!

Re: Is it possible?
well yes you can but this will only mean 110% dedication. The healthy amount of weight to lose a week is about 2-4 pounds. So a month you can lose 8-10 pounds.
But i really suggest working out 5-6 days a week and doing about an hour each day. You're going to have to mix up your workouts to get the best results. At first you'll lose more weight because your body isn't used to it and any type of movement will drop the pounds. After a while though your muscles get used to it and will need more work in order to continue losing weight. So do cardio, strength training. Try different workouts such as pilates, yoga, kickboxing, running.
And when it comes to eating stay dedicated too. You can eat healthy 6 days a week and indulge 1 day, it will be fine.
BUT working out is key and what will be most effective....just eating healthy and not working out won't get those results that quick.

Re: Is it possible?
check out caloriecount.com....which is what weight loss really boils down to anyway. That's a great forum for learning and staying on track. Calories in/Calories out and factor in some exercise....you can safely lose around 2lbs per week. Make sure you eat nutrient dense foods and remember to factor in your Basal Metabolic Rate for caloric needs, plus a bit extra for all the energy it takes to move around all day. No matter what though....if you're beaming from within...you will look extraordinary and make a stunning bride!!!

I tried WW about 2 years ago for 6 months and follow the points plan very strictly. I gained 10lbs. I'm now trying South Beach and I'm happy on it. I cheated a little on Saturday when I ate 3 french fries.
I didn't make it to the gym today because it closes so early and I went out to the RH for a showcase. Tomorrow, I try again to go at 5AM before work. I really wish it was as easy as when I was a 6 day a week swimmer.
Thanks for your help!

just get it into your head, no matter oh i want to lose weight...It has to be 'THATS IT I AM DOING THIS' you obviously were used to routine before, since you say you were a swimmer. So you know what it means to stay on top of it and really dedicate to it.

don't let that stop you. Theres a channel called exercise on demand. go to that and pick a workout you want to do and just do it right now. Especially now since you feel motivated. They even have a buff brides section, and tons more workouts. Even when you can't make it to the gym you can still work out at home...Whether its doing a workout video or the exercise on demand channel. Even just doing crunches, jumping jacks, running in place or anything.

Well, TV is out (Giants game - I'm banned from touching the TV).
I might put on a hoodie and jump rope outside till I start to freeze.

i was actually going to suggest to jump rope. Yeah it would be great for you. You can do that for a while and then do some crunches and a few other things.

That's actually my 'normal' weight. I'd like to go there and stay.

To go from 165lbs to 115lbs by July?
Not in a healthy way. According to this National Institutes of Health link, healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs. per week. The healthy range to lose between now (mid-Jan.) and July 1 (22 weeks) is 22-44 lbs.
This link also includes overall guidelines about how to get to a healthy weight.
Every pound is 3,500 calories. For every lb. of weight lost, you must reduce your intake 500 cals. per day. Do cardio to burn fat and strengthen your heart and weight training to maintain muscle mass and elevate your metabolism at rest.
I must also ask--is 115 lbs. an appropriate weight for your height and frame? Depending on each, that weight may be unhealthy for you.
