Not in a healthy way. According to this National Institutes of Health link, healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs. per week. The healthy range to lose between now (mid-Jan.) and July 1 (22 weeks) is 22-44 lbs.
This link also includes overall guidelines about how to get to a healthy weight.
Every pound is 3,500 calories. For every lb. of weight lost, you must reduce your intake 500 cals. per day. Do cardio to burn fat and strengthen your heart and weight training to maintain muscle mass and elevate your metabolism at rest.
I must also ask--is 115 lbs. an appropriate weight for your height and frame? Depending on each, that weight may be unhealthy for you.
I'm 5'5' and I used to be a swimmer with a smaller frame, but a large bust.
I've spoken with my doctor and he said it is an ok weight since it once was my weight while I was in shape.

Re: Is it possible?
I think it is possible. But I wouldnt do it....it would be too excessive. I lost 30 lbs in 3 months by eating healthier. But it was a STRICT diet.

Anything is possible.......look at it like this, if you lose 10lbs. a month, you'll meet your goal....if you don't exercise already, I think working out for 30 minutes 4-5 times a week while eating healthier will work...

It definitely is. 2lbs a week until July will get you there or close. By doing WW you can easily achieve that.

The lightest I was was at 87lbs. At that weight I was awful. I started looking fat when I got above 120.

Re: Is it possible?
Did your FH propose to you at 165 & tell you that you needed to loose weight or do you think he already loves you the way you are??? My FH loves long hair on women. We met OL and my photo is with short hair. I started to let it grow to please him. his response ' it's unfair to ask you to change and i love you just the way your are'. and that's why i know he's THE ONE... and, i cut it the way i like it!
and no, i don't think that kind of weight loss should be goal just to fit into a smaller sized wedding dress...think 10-15 maybe 20 pounds. be reasonable and hit the gym.

I just went outside and did about 10 min of jump rope (it's too cold to stay out longer). I have to start dinner, but I think while the steak is on, I'll do some crunches.

I was about 10lbs lighter when he proposed and he doesn't care if I lose or gain actually. I just hate looking at myself everyday. I put on a lot of weight when I started my anxiety medication. Now I get up in the morning and I hate putting on my clothes. I feel like a cow.

Re: Is it possible?
Im looking to lose 50 pounds by july/august..... Its possible! If you can safely lose 2 lbs a week, thats 8lbs a month.. You have 6 months to go so thats 48lbs.. Losing an extra 2 pounds out of the 'healthy' way isnt going to hurt you at all! It IS possible!! I start my new diet and exercise plan tomorrow... I know we both can do what we want.. Just stay faithful to your diet and exercise!

if you starve yourself!!! which you SHOULD NOT do obviously!!
i dont think that is realistic at all....
i am aiming for 10 pounds by august. i think that is more like it. i kinow someone who lost like 50 pounds for her wedding and then gained it all back on her honeymoon.
It wouldnt be starving yourself. You can lose weight by eating 5 meals per day. Its WHAT you eat

Re: Is it possible?
healthy would be to lose about 8 pounds a month..so this may be pushing it...try working out 5-6 times a week, alternating cardio workouts (you will need to switch your routine a lot) your weight will plateau at different points..and whatever you do eat! don't starve yourself

JMO, but I don't think it's realistic or health to lose that kind of weight in a relatively short time.

ITA, I think you would much safer to reach for 125-135 115 is on the smaller end of the weight scale even for a height of 5'5

115 lbs?? for 5'5' ? I think its a bit on the unrealistic edge. Honestly that doesn't even sound like a healthy weight for that height. But anyway either way just remember muscles weighs more so you can tone up and look amazing but don't kill yourself over a number.

i am sure it is possible, but more importantly...is it healthy to try to attempt this? it is very drastic in a short period of time
it really isn't if you calculate it...if its safe to lose 2-4 pounds a week...even calculating at 2 pounds a week that is 8 pounds a month. She has about 6 months left until the wedding. So that would be about 48 pounds she could lose in a healthy way.
