Is it possible to get sick(er) while on antibiotics?

Is it possible to get sick(er) while on antibiotics?

I've been on Amoxicillin for about a week now for a sinus infection that i've had...now I feel like my chest is getting congested..? How can that be?

It's possible the infection is loosening up and going into your chest. That or the amoxicillan isn't strong enough. Maybe ask for a different anti-biotic. I'm sorry you're not feeling well

I have been sick for two weeks. The first week I went to the doctor and got antibiotics and the same thing happened to me, it moved into my chest. I am actually feeling better since being off the antibiotics!!

Last summer I had a bad upper respiratory infection and took a course of Zithromax (I think). Anyway I took the last pill and that night I started having a terrible pain in my cheekbone and congestion. I had to go back on antib's because I had a sinus infection. So I guess it is possible.

Sinus infections can be really stubborn also. I would not be surprised if it spread. Feel better soon.
