haven't gone dress shopping yet?? People are starting to freak me out saying that I need to get it as soon as possible, some dresses take ober 6 months to come in and now I am getting worried

No.. I don't think it's bad at all. There's a year until your wedding. I think it's OK to start looking but I think you have a couple of months until you have to make a committment and place your order.

I think you still have plenty of time... I'm getting married in July and I just bought mine a week ago.
I think as long as you order like 8 months before you should be fine.

i bought mine when i was about a yr out... but started looking at about 1 1/2 yrs out... it may take you a while to find one you love so i would def begin looking

i don't think it's bad, all though some dresses do take 6 months to come in. I ordered my in june and it's already here and they said it would take 6 months, but it came in 3. I think you hve some time, but start going soon.

I would relax but start checking things out. . you are in october so you have almost a year. . even if it took 9 months to come in. .you still have 3 months to wait. . .I think for some they just hear '09 and think . .wow it's almost 09

I totally and fully agree. I started looking a year out. But I didn't order till May which is only 9 months from the Wedding day. So I would say to start casually looking now and then you can order something in a few months?? HTH!

That's true! And who knows, you could start looking next week and find the one that makes you go 'THAT'S IT, NO MORE DRESSES, THIS IS THE ONE!' So take your time, make sure you love it and don't order something just because you feel rushed!

Wedding is in August and I only went dress shopping for the first time this past sunday. The stores are telling me I need to order ASAP. I want to visit a few more places and hopefully I'll purchase my dress by the end of October.

I am making plans with one of my bms now to go and I will just make sure I order before Christmas. That seems like plenty of time to me :)

I started loking for dresses at the 10 month mark thats more than enough time. Even 8 months before is fine.

no, its not bad!!!!!! do you know how many people plan a wedding in under 1 year??? and they somehow get their gowns too. i think you are fine. start looking soon though...so that you give yourself time to find the perfect gown!

you have PLENTY of time!! we are planning our whole wedding in under a year! i ordered my dress in april for my january wedding. it came in last week!!!!! i could have waited another month to order!
