Is it rude for someone to ask

How big your e-ring is???

I mean its one thing if you know the person really well then I really dont care but last night I felt really uncomfortable.

Fh and I went out with another couple and I have only met the girl twice and she kept staring at my ring (we were standing on line for a show for about an hour) and then she was like how big is that thing?? I dont know... I love my ring so much but I get embarrassed because I feel that people judge me and fh when I tell them, but not in a good way.

it is extremely rude, especially if you dont have that kind of relationship with that person. I would say none of your business!

I think it is especially if its someone u really dont know very well. when i get questions like that i try to blow it off with a joke like 'oh my bling bling ring? i cant tell u its a secret!' or something like that.

That really doesn't bother me. Although I would never ask! But... I don't like when people ask... So how much do you think he spent?

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

I will tell people the truth if they ask people how big my ring is but I do think it is rude if you do not know the person too well... With my closest friends, they could ask me just about anything (including the cost) and I could care less but with those I do not know it does make me a little uncomfortable...

Exactly! People get weird because that normally is the question I get next is how much he spent.. I think that is so rude!

Yea, I think its rude. Why does it matter? I had someone examining my ring yesterday for like 5 minutes straight. I was like what is she doing?? Then she goes...hmmm very clear, nice color, what is it an 'I'??? And I was like, I have no clue, is an I good? She said yes, but then I looked online and I am not sure if its good or not. Hmph! People should keep their comments to themselves!

It is definitely rude! Even though I know, I usually just say 'I don't know, but it sure is big!'

Although most of the time people just comment about how it's blue.

Ugh! That's even more rude! I get asked that a lot too, again because mine isn't a diamond, but I just say 'We saved a bundle, so now I'm getting stuff from Tiffany's to match.' Anything to make them wish they hadn't asked at all.

08er here!!! SO funny you bring this up bc i have a very good friend who always asks me about the size of my ring but truly bc she is curious and does not know much about e-rings and wants to get engaged. ANYWAY on our way home from my bachelorette party, I was sleeping in the front seat (well kinda but still could hear the convo). So my friend asks my sister, FSIL and FH's Best man's wife - ALL married- if it's rude to ask how big your e-ring is. and they alll respond YES!!!!!!!!! i Felt so bad though bc she is like well what if you know the person well (bc she always asks me) and then they were like no it's ok if theyre ok with telling you and talking about it but def not something you ask someone whose ring you just like!! LoL just had to share!!

i think its rude if you dont know the person. my mom didnt even ask! i told her. noone has ever asked me but i would feel uncomforatable and just say 'why do you ask?' put them on the spot.

Me either it doesn't really bother me too. I agree when people say when people say how much did he spend, or 'oh he must be rich'. It's like who are you to say that?!

Ohhhhhhhh those are really bad too!!!!!

omg, i know how you feel. we went to my cousin's graduation party last sunday and her friend's were all over my ring. telling my FH that i'm so lucky, yeah i'm lucky but cause he's a great guy not cause the size of my ring. one of them even asked if she can try it on, i told her it's bad luck and i don't take it off.

It doesn't really bother me that people ask, but it does make me uncomfortable when they stare at it like they have never seen a diamond before.

What does bother me is when they ask how much it was or make references to how much he spent.

But it is rude, especially if you do not know the person too well.
