My friend who was paying for her wedding herself, invited me to her rehearsal dinner w/o my fiance, and I totally understood.. I think maybe it depends on who the people are... if they are close friends, then you would hope they'd be understanding about it, but if they aren't as close to you, they may be upset if they were invited solo...

the only people that would go to the RD are those that are PARTICIPATING in the ceremony itself and therefore in the
rehearsal itself.

the 'extra' people (spouses, sig others) can be invited if you can swing it financially, but if you can't, I don't think anyone should EXPECT you to put yourself out- I think that EXPECTATION is rude.

do what you can. honestly, if the people you have chosen to include so intimately in you special event are WORTHY of the honor, they should understand how prohibitive the cost is of all of these things.

I don't think her question was about the RD, I think it was about the E Party.

I think fiances are a must - it doesn't seem right to not invite them. For friends with boyfriends, I would only invite them if it is a serious relationship (not if they just started dating). JMO!

I agree a 100%

i agree with the majority of the ladies. i would be a little upset if my FH wasn't invited. if they are engaged, and you haven't met the 'elusive FI' then why not make an effort to meet them now?

BF's can be a tricky thing...i mean if you tell your friend they can't bring their BF, but you let other friends bring their hubbies or FH's, won't that make your friend feel like you're saying they are only considered 'valid' if they have a ring on the finger?

oopps. your right. sorry- that's been on my brain lately!!!!!! still, people should do what they can. in that case, I would try. perhaps even having it at home and making it a cocktail dinner.

I would invite fiances and significant others to the rehearsal dinner. If money was a factor then I would just change it to a less expensive venue.

i agree.
