Is it rude to....
....Ask someone to be a bridesmaid after you asked all the other girls months earlier?I have a friend that I would LOVE to be a bridesmaid. I didn't ask her sooner because I have only known her for like 2 or 3 yrs and I wasn't sure if she thought it would be weird... also, she is paying to put herself through college and I don't want to burden her with the expense...
...So we are going to lunch tomorrow and I am contemplating asking her. Should I? If so, what should I say about the delayed invitation?

Do it!! What do you have to lose? In regards to the invite..I would be honest. She might be more understanding of your choices than you think!

If you're unsure you could also ask her to do a reading or be your 'something blue' (like wear a blue dress. My friend did that for her college roomates wedding.

I would do it. My FH was asked to be a groomsmen in my cousins wedding after the other groomsmen were. He was not offended & was really honored.

I don't think it's rude at all - I'm sure she will be so flattered that it wouldn't even occur to her to think about when you asked the other girls.
I asked all but one of my girls, but I'm waiting a little bit to ask my last friend bc she is going through some family stuff right now and has a lot on her plate - don't want to overwhelm her! Good luck - hope it all went well!

So I asked her by giving her a letter. She jumped up and screamed and hugged me!! She didn't care at all that it was a delayed invitation... she's thrilled =)

Just say what you just said to us! Tell her 'I would LOVE for you to be a bridesmaid. I didn't ask sooner because I wasn't sure if you'd think it would be weird, and I don't want to burden you with the expense, but I would love for you to be a bridesmaid.'
