Is it rude to ask MOH to look for her own dress?

Is it rude to ask MOH to look for her own dress?

My sister is my MOH, I have no bridesmaids. We found a dress she loves and looks great in and I am very relaxed about what dress she will wear. I feel she could get a better price on a similar dress - going to a dept store, etc.
I am still unsure of what color she will wear, perhaps champagne with ivory sash if we order that designer. But I was also interested in gold. This dress does not come in gold. She isn't really crazy about either color and I would consider others that are not included for this particular designer.
I would like to tell her she could look around to try to find a similar dress with better pricing options and different color options.

Is this okay to do or really my job to investigate?

I see nothing wrong with her looking seeing as how it's only her in the bp.....Talk to her and see what she thinks. It might be easier for her to do it herself, but she might also want to do it with you so you can 'bond' over the dress shopping experience

I think it is ok to tell her to find something she loves, this way you know she is happy with what she is wearing and will not be uncomfortable. I would however go with her when she does find one-just so that you give your input-rather then her feeling like you just left her hanging

hmm... well i guess it depends. ask her if she wants to/has the time to do this. otherwise i would look to give her some suggestions. i was originaly going to allow my 7 bridesmaids go to any store and get their own dress. the more i thought about it, i felt that it would be more work to have them find their own- especially bc i would want them to be navy blue and tea length. i know when i go dress shopping its hard enough to find one that i like, even with out any guidelines.

the fact that you have only your MOH, hers doesn't need to match anyone else. hahhaha this was kind of long.... sorry!

I would be thrilled if I were her! I'd much rather pick out my own dress. I hated having to be forced to wear a dress that I hates when I was a bridesmaid in the past.
I am having all my bridesmaids (5 in total, including MOH) pick out their own dresses. I gave them the color, and told them to go to David's bridal and get whatever they want in that color as long as it is long.
My best friend did that for her wedding, and it looked great and was easy for everyone.

I would go with her though-- just incase you dont like whatshe picks-- but I am sure it should be fine && I dont think that it is rude at all-- she should be happy that you are not a bridezilla about it loll

i did the same with my bridesmaids (basically i told them, 'brown, go!'). i did go to the store with them a few times and sent them dresses online that i thought they might like, but in the end they ordered everything without me even being there.

if you feel weird you can always go on houseofbrides.com and find some pics of dresses she might like. they're also much cheaper on there, so it's a plus if she chooses to order online.
