I know my invites went out weeks ago!! It was not the fact that no one bought my China and that's why I wanted to take it off. I just don't want to seem greedy because it is expensive.
your not being greedy sweetie Shoot i went for a lot of stuff..hey i figure put it out there...if i get it great if not OH WELL

China, silver and crystal BELONG on your registry. Maybe this sounds old fashioned, but a lot of my mother's friends wanted to know what pattern we registered for. It is considered a very traditional registry item. I received 7 of the 12 I registered for and I told my mom I would like the rest for Christmas. A lot of people like to buy it for showers or for wedding gifts.

KEEP IT ON! You want it, keep it on. Almost EVERYONE registers for china and those that don't don't want china. China's the standby gift. People who don't know what to get for the shower or your birthday will get you a place setting. have no fear!

Totally keep it on! My aunt/uncles are actually waiting for me to pick mine out so they can buy it for me as an engagement gift- also, remember, it is probably something you would never buy for yourself on your own once you are married, so you may as well take the chance and see if there are any takers... besides, if it doesn't all sell, you can always buy the rest with your registry discount! I almost didn't have it either, but it doesn't hurt to put it on there....

Honestly, China is the #1 registry item I can think of. It's definitely the most common, I think.

I was feeling so guilty putting it on my registry that we actually bought it oursleves!! ( we also got an awesome deal we couldn't walk away from)
Now you are making me want to put the casual china that I was eyeing-
I have a problem accepting gifts and compliments - I have learned

as everyone already said, formal and informal china, stemware and flatware all belong in your registry...you shouldn't feel bad...that is why there is such a thing as registry...guests can use it for shower gifts and wedding gifts...

Rude? Not at all!
I think (but not sure) that people don't buy it because they figure the parents or close relatives want to buy it.
But why take it off? It's part of your registry and I would find it stranger to not have it on there.

China was made for registeries. It is NOT rude or tacky. Do you have very expensive China...like you have to pay each cup individually? If so people tend not to want to give you one or two cups or dishes. They like to give sets or placesetting. That could be the reason people are not buying it.

I don't think it is rude at all, I was under the impression that it is a given...

It is $59.99 per setting or $239.00 for 5 place settings. I don't think that is bad

I dont think it is bad either! Mine is 69.99 a place setting. I took off my covered vegetable bowl because it was $139 and I felt like I looked really greedy!

That's not bad at all!! I felt kinda bad putting china on my registry too but I figured the worst that will happen is that nobody buys it -- oh well!! Mine is $109 per place setting!

i think that is TOTALLY ok. Ours is 89.99 for a place setting...FH didnt want to register for china, but i REALLY wanted it and figured this is our only chance to get it cause we arent going to go out and BUY all of it later in life....not to mention that you get 10% off of it afterwards....
which leads me to this... has anyone ever heard that you can use bed bath and beyond coupons at fortunoffs??? is this TRUE??
