no way, it is common!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to add that I only got a couple of settings. But I bought it all for myself after the wedding. I used the registry discount.

I went through this and didn't put in on. However, FI's Aunt and Uncle bought us 10 place settings. I would leave it on, if you don't get it, you don't get it! Remember, some people may also buy you a wedding gift, instead of $$$

I don't think so at all.

We didn't put china on ours and people are calling to ask why not and can they get it somewhere else!!

I agree. When I look at a registry, I'm surprised if I don't see China. Keep it on.

Not at all. I registered for it and received 10 out of 12 place settings. But even if no one bought it for your showere, there is always anniversaries, holidays, etc. That is what everyone told me. Plus I could get 10% off unpurchased items.. So imo go for it...

Nope. We put our formal china on our Macy's registry and we had guests purchase it. We had guests buying from our registry at the last minute up until our the week of our wedding. Just wait until the week of your wedding as there may be guest who will purchase china.

I wish I put china on my registry! I thought it was too expensive. I was wrong, I received a $600 fountain that was on my registry as a joke. So keep it on!!

NO WAY!! This is the only time in your life you can have fun and pick whatever you want. Worst case, you don't get it. Don't worry about what others think.

I am ballsy I registered for my china and a VERA WANG VASE..plus other things..

Go for it!!

I guess it's not that bad. I just checked a friends registry and she registered for a $440 duvet cover

rude? why would that be rude?
Do you know if invitations went out for your shower? Since that is when the majority of people know where you are registered...
I have LOTS of things still left on my registry, i am not taking it off because nobody has bought it yet!
Even if they don't buy all my china, i will buy the rest myself after the wedding!

I know my invites went out weeks ago!! It was not the fact that no one bought my China and that's why I wanted to take it off. I just don't want to seem greedy because it is expensive.

Not at all- every wedding I have ever been to, the brides had put the china on the registry! I actually opted to buy some of the place settings as a gift for my cousin's wife.
