I just got an invitation to a bridal shower and to RSVP they had their email address there, not a phone number. Does anyone else think this is strange? The first thing that came to my head was my grandma who can't turn a computer on!

Re: Is it strange....
I personally think its awesome LOL.
I wish i could rsvp in an email.. i hate hate hate RSVPing lol..
I had this issue when I wanted to do my e-party invitation on a dvd... my in laws freaked and said some people dont know how to use a computer.
I got the same thing when I decided to do my registry on myregistry.com ..
I feel like 90% of your guests can get on a computer and for the 10% that cant.. they have kids or grandkids that can do it for them !!

Re: Is it strange....
Whenever I have done showers I always put a phone # and an email address. I think it's weird not to put a phone # too, unless they know for sure that everyone who is invited uses email.

Re: Is it strange....
My almost 90 year old grandparents email and are even on facebook!!! And my 3 year old cousin knows how to use the computer. It's our culture and therefore everyone is forced to adapt. Email is def most appropriate nowadays. But I agree # and email would be best to cover everything.

Re: Is it strange....
when i sent out my engagement party invites, i put both my phone number and my email address. i would say about 90% RSVP'ed by email, so i really don't think it's that uncommon. i think people just find it much easier to respond by email.

we did that for our engagement party we didnt even list a phone number. Anyone who didnt respond via email actually called me in person

agreed. Plus it's probably easier to keep track. Just in case some one calls and you forgot to write it down.

Re: Is it strange....
my friends e-party this month had the rsvp as an e-mail.
I much prefer this method over a phone RSVP.

Re: Is it strange....
I LOVE the idea because I am ALWAYS connected - facebook, twitter, foursquare, msn, gmail, etc.... it's the industry I'm in.... but I think I will still do phone number RSVP for anything. The reason being is my new year's resolution is 'text less, talk more'

Re: Is it strange....
My Bridal Shower invites had both my moms phone number and an email address. having just an email address I too think is a little strange like you said for the people who dont use computers (grandparents).

Re: Is it strange....
my invites had e-mail and phone
that way grandmas and youngins could RSVP how ever they wanted.
even people i work with who have computers on their desk are e-mail retarded

Re: Is it strange....
I also hate RSVPing but I do agree that you need to have a phone number on there for older folk that don't have computers or computer access or have no idea how to use a computer lol

Re: Is it strange....
I've been noticing that- and I wish my sister had added hers to the RSVP line, but it didn't fit.
If they leave an email, I usually RSVP that way so I don't call them at a bad time
