Most people probably won't remember the exact look of your invites anyway (unless they're super-elaborate or something), so don't worry about them matching.

I am getting my invites to match my colors only because I want to. I don't think that it would be stupid to do different colors, however I think people usually go with the same color scheme for everything. Hope that makes sense.

My BM dresses are an olive green and my invites are metallic white and bronze. You don't have to match everything

I don't think that you need to match them. My girls are wearing plum, but my invites are cream and the lettering is black.

Not at all. Mine don't match, my girls are wearing wine and my invites are ivory with hunter green ink.
