Sorry... me again... I posted earlier about if you put your real ceremony start time or earlier.... another question now:
I think I'm leaning towards putting the real time (for the moment), but would it be tacky to say something like... 2:00 sharp, please arrive by 1:45... something along those lines? Is there a way to word that nicely, but get the point across to get there early (because we have to start at 2)?
thanks!
ETA:
Thanks for replying, i guess i will just have to put the earlier time ---- I was just trying to avoid printing an earlier time because my church has a mass ending right before my ceremony --- my ceremony's at 2 and mass ends around 1, so my florist cant even get in there until at the earliest 1:15 so i didnt want the florist still there while early people start arriving.. (early people, as in the courteous ones who actually show up on time, but are now there REALLY early if i put a fake time on there)

I think the best thing would be to put an earlier time and then you don't have to worry about wording or any late coming guest

Im not sure if there is a way to word that nicely. I'd rather just put the start time 15 mins early to avoid writing something like that on the invite.

I agree with the others that you should just put an earlier time...do you really want to write more than the time on the invitation that you may display in a frame?

Re: Is it tacky..
my ceremony is at my RH and they told me to tell the guest it starts 30 minutes before it actually will. but they will also be providing the guests a place to relax as well as refreshments. You definitely dont want guests arriving as you are taking your vows.

Re: Is it tacky..
IMO you are better off putting an earlier start time.
You can put whatever you want in your invite, but it won't convince people to be on time if they are perpetually late!

Re: Is it tacky..
it isn't tacky- really no one will really know if you put an earlier time (they will assume you just started a little bit later) in my case I didn't put an earlier time I put the actual start time because I am getting married in a church most pastors do not request you do that incase there is another event earlier that day also I am trusting that most guests will know to come a little bit earlier in most weddings I have attended I never noticed that to be an issue -

Re: Is it tacky..
If you want everyone to arrive 15 minutes before, you may as well just put the starting time as 15 minutes before so there's no confusion.

I agree...its a little wordy beyond that, besides as nice as you make it sound SOMEONE will take it the wrong way!

Put, a half hour earlier that is what my coordinator told me to do to make sure. You never know what can happen that day traffic etc.

In this situation, I would probably just put the REAL time.
Eff those who don't come to the church on time, too bad for them ... they will miss you walking down the aisle.
