I don't think its tacky but I personally don't like choosing what I want to eat 2 months in advance.

Re: IS IT TACKY
My brother had the actual entrees listed on his response card. He had a choice at his RH of having two entrees tableside asked, or 3 entrees if it was preselected. They do not hold you to what you actually checked off on the response card. I thought it was weird but, it seems like its common out of state.

I don't think it is tacky! BUT why would you do that does you RH want to know a count before hand?
I have seen that done for out of state weddings that I have been to!

Re: IS IT TACKY
I wouldnt. Most people dont know what they want to eat 2 months in advance. And I always like to know the sides before making a decision

Re: IS IT TACKY
I personally hate being asked what I want to eat before the event but unfortuantly it is done probably everywhere but here. I have a wedding in CT and they are putting the meals on the response cards and last year the one we went to in NH did the same thing. When FH called me last year to say chicken or beef I was like what? But its not tacky. FH friends are in shock they dont have to pick their food until the day of when we get married

I think this is how its typically done out of state. However I don't care for the idea...

Re: IS IT TACKY
Also how do you know if the meal is chicken marsala or chicken picatta - what if I love chicken but hate mushrooms

Re: IS IT TACKY
i don't think its tacky at all. if that's how you want to do it then i would do it. *it would be more eco-friendly to do this so the hall does not over order, just make sure to print the choice cards on recycled paper

That's exactly the issue I have with it! We just got an invitation for a wedding in CT and the choices were 'chicken' 'steak' and 'vegetable' - FH is absolutely horrified of certain vegetables, and he was asking me how the chicken will be prepared - how the heck do i know!!!

Re: IS IT TACKY
I certainly don't think it's 'tacky'. My RH requires us to do that, so we are. However, we are going to (hopefully) indicate exactly what the entree choices are.

my rule of thumb... if you have to ask if its tacky... it usually is.

Personally...I think it is.
However, I have seen this done numerous times. (All weddings were outside of NY.)
It's your wedding. If you want to do it -- DO IT!
Me too - it was a virigina wedding and i still thought it was tacky sorry!

Re: IS IT TACKY
I think RHs do this as a way to not waste food-- which I think is a good thing.
