They're supposed to take the cue from the inner envelope the maximum number of people that are supposed to attend, rendering the spaces unnecessary. Even if you compose the card as suggested in this thread, will it stop people from writing in however many they want, or calling you asking if they can bring other people?

I dont personally think thats bad at all- my friend put ___ of ___ and then filled in the second blank with a number so people knew how many were invited... and do you know people still put like 3 of 2 or 5 of 2... amazing!

Personally, I don't like it... too many words on a tiny card. The 'M_______________' is the space where the guest will put who is attending... so Bon, if you invited me and Aaron and only I could come, I would only put my name on the response card. It takes the place of the __1 __2.
It's not tacky, but I don't think it's neccessary. It may confuse people.

I personally don't think it's tacky. I did like the way someone worded it saying '___ of ___ will be attending' and for each individual family you can fill in the second blank space but I'm not sure where on the RSVP it could go. But it's good because if you get a response saying 5 of 2 will be attending you know to call that person and ask them to keep their 3 kids home lol. That was a long winded answer to a short question ...sorry.

Not tacky at all! I think it's a great idea to keep things organized and not have to deal with the headaches!
