Is it too early to shop for our wedding bands, book a hotel for the night of, buy favors etc? I wan't to start doing all the little things so I can slowly start paying for some of this wedding but everyone keeps telling me its too early

is not at all.. I bought my wedding bands last nov (I wasnt planning but they gave us a great price). Favors if you are set on what you want go for it.. and wedding night, if you get a good price go and booked

It is NEVER too early to do anything in my opinion. The more you do now the more thankful you will be later on down the road that you did it!! HTH

Not too early to book the hotel! Especially if you want some kind of suite -- they book up fast.
As far as wedding bands go, as long as you're sure you wont change your mind, why not? take your time, shop around, and get a great price.
favors are a little different -- it depends what you want to get. you wouldnt want them to get dusty sitting around for a year, and you'll have to store them.

I think it's good to space out when you buy all the little things and not wait for the last month when all the payments are done. Just make sure you stay organized and have ample storage for everything.

Good call on that one.. my closets are so packed right now they would end up sitting in a box in the middle of the living room for a year. lol.
ok you guys made me feel better. I am goign to start doing the little things.

I dont think there is such a thing as too early. my mom is sick and i am now working nights and saturdays along with teaching full time, so there has been no wedding related things done in a month...and probably will not be until may.... i think its best to do it when you can so if a problem arises, you are able to sit back and just breathe :)

I don't think it's too early at all! We've been trying to do a little at a time so costs don't pile up til the end. As long as your favors aren't perishable (we're doing Kisses so I can't buy them just yet) it doesn't hurt to be ahead of the game!
My only problem is that I buy things too early and then change my mind and then it's too late. But if you're not like me, then plan away! The people that are telling you it's too early got married 10 years ago and dont' realize that it takes much more time and effort to plan a wedding than it used to!

exactally my thoughts
if you find something you love and it's the right price go for it this way your not stressing about it close to the wedding

It's NEVER too early in my opinion! I started all the 'little' things about a year before my wedding. I'm just about DONE with all the little things, and then I'll just have to worry about paying all the BIG things off! LOL

We have done everything when we have gotten a great deal on it. All of the little stuff is done (except for the hersheys kisses and our favors - all perishable) - and we have started to tackle paying off all of our vendors.. Almost done..

I don't think it is too early at all. I am in Grad School right no so whenever I had breaks from school, I try to fit things in because I know things will be hectic right before the wedding!

It's NEVER to early to get a jump start.. ESPECIALLY if it will help you financially in the long run! We got our wedding bands and we blocked the rooms already.. I haven't gotten the favors yet, but I plan on looking later this month!

I would definitly buy the rings. I bought our 3 months ago before the price of platinum went up and got a great deal on my ring.
With the hotel I would make sure you will be going to that palce for your HM and you wont change your mind.
Favors? I would wait until next year...space and different ideas may come to you in a year.
