I think if you were getting married over a holiday weekend then no, but otherwise yeah I think it is too early...IMO

Call the hotel and ask.

I tend to think so, but why don't you call and ask the hotel? I didn't even think of doing it now and we are getting married 2 months before you. Hmmm . . . very good question!!!

I dont see why you couldnt! Why not get as much done as you can so you dont have to worry about it later? Plus the rates may be more expensive a year from now!
ETA: my hotel room block was only $109/ night. We booked it about 7 months in advance.... My Best friend used them for her wedding about 3 months after my wedding and her rate was about $20 more/ night.

I actually called a few places for my 1/05 weddings and they didn't even have rates yet.

I know the hotel I booked with said they can only book up to 10 months ahead. I would check with the hotel you plan on using.

I would say no. I just went to block rooms and the place I wanted was fully booked. Maybe I waited too long, but I would have been better off doing it further in advance.

IMO...better safe than sorry....if the hotel allows it, then book it! It's never too early!

I think, the sooner the better. We did it ahead of time and good thing that we did b/c that weekend is not only Labor Day but the week of the Republican National Convention as well as the US Open and a lot of out OOT guests were planning on staying in the city. IMO I would book as soon as you can. Good luck. ~Tara

You can try. I had to wait until a year before my date.

That is something I need to do. I am getting married on a Yacht that sails out of Flushing from the Worlds Fair Marina. Anyone familiar with that area... any recommendations?

I think so - call and ask - maybe they won't let you do it this early!

Nope, I did, and I'm gettting married March 2005.. they told me it's never too early.. the only thing, about September, is they might not have the prices yet.. march is a down time so maybe that's why.. its worth a shot..
