a good friend of mine to be in the bridal party? I've been engaged for 4 months. My engagement got off to a rocky start, which took 2 months to get over. Plus, I just realize that something is missing, and it's her! Would you be offended?

No, I don't think it's too late. FH asked his groomsmen pretty early on to be in the wedding party. It turns out that one of them has a wife who's having a baby 2 weeks before our wedding date so he had to say no. FH asked another of his close friends 6 months before the wedding and that friend said yes. I say go for it.

She knows that I asked my sisters and FH sister. I may have mentioned that I asked my good friend from high school.

Ok. I didn't ask all my girls at the same time. I asked my sis first then aunt & cousin, then FH's family and finally a friend. I asked them at separate times. I still think it's fine.

I think it's fine. I've asked my girls but FH hasn't decided who he is having yet so he hasn't asked anyone.

I would go ahead and ask her, and tell her exactly what you just posted. That you feel like something's missing and you realized it's her! It's such a sweet thought, I don't think she'd be offended at all.

I would definitely ask her....the last thing you would want is to regret not having her in the wedding party down the line, when the date is even closer and then it's DEFINITELY too late to ask... Then again, this is coming from someone with 10 bridesmaids.....I almost couldn't stop asking!!

Definatly not too late! I waited on my 3 girls a lot longer than my MOH. I am sure she will be so pleased just like my other girls were!

Re: Is it too late to ask
I actually asked two people much later then I had asked everyone else. One of them was from out of state, and was going to law school and living on with her boyfriend and I felt bad asking her because of the expense, another one of my bms I asked way later and that was because she was dating dh's brother and I was afraid to ask her in case they broke up. Dh told me just to do it and I was so glad that I did. So no I do not think it is too late to ask someone to be in your bridal party. There should never be a time line on something like that and I am sure that your friend will feel honored. If you feel weird about asking just tell her exactly what you said to all of us that something was missing, and it was her in your bridal party.

I think you have time and it not last minute so nothing to be offended about if I were your friend.

Re: Is it too late to ask
to be honest, i asked someone WAYYYY later than everyone else. she got over being offended and that changed to happiness for participating. Why I didn't think of my friend initially is beyond me....
