You just need to get it at least 24 hours in advance (to the minute, they write the exact time you were there on it). I don't think they'll be open on Memorial Day.

Yup - like Jean said, as long as it's more the 24 hours before the wedding, it's fine.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday, so everything will be closed.

If you go to Islip Town Hall (not sure where you live) They are open late on Tuesdays, if that helps

I went there on Tuesday myself and we got our license. If we were in there 15 minutes, it was a lot. Very fast - just bring your birth certificate and license and know your SS# and of course, the $40 fee.

You can go to any county clerk's office in New York state, so look for the website of the one closest to you. It's not too late, but I really doubt they will be open Memorial Day. Also check the hours--the one we plan to visit closes at 3:00 p.m.

what happens if your fh cant FIND his birth certificate??????????
