Is it too over the top to ask all of my bridesmaids to wear their hair up? Is that a brideszilla request? I don't want to go too far because these girls have been so nice and so accomodating already. As far as the bridesmaid's dress, they showed me what they liked but told me that they would wear whatever I want because it is my day. I told them that they can wear whatever shoes they want as long as they are dyed the appropriate color because I want them to be comfortable. They have all agreed to get their hair and make up done professionally, which I think is very generous. So is this request going too far?

a little over the top IMO. let them wear their hair as comfortable as they want. i know it seems you are giving them a 'lot' -- but asking them to get shoes dyed is a little more than i would have asked as well.
let them be comfortable and look their best, however that might mean for their hair.
ITA. All my girls chose to get up-do's except one who just wanted to get her hair blown out. I was fine with that--she joked that she was like the odd man out, but I don't really think it's even noticeable in pics. I know she doesn't like how she looks with her hair all up, and I wanted her to feel beautiful!

ummm i dontthink it is becuase im asking my girls to wear down or half up half down... just do it in a nice way not a bridezilla way lol

I would ask them how they feel about wearing their hair up, if they dont care then ask them to wear it up. I know for me, wearing my hair all up makes me nauseous and gives me a headache, I think it depends on how tights it is pulled back but I always stay away from wearing my hair all up

I think some people think it is too much (and even some of my girls),but I really dont think its too much to ask for one day. My wedding is in July and I know some of the girls and their hair. I know what they do when they get hot and their is down and gets frizzy they throw it up in pony tails or buns and I really dont want that. I do the same thing! I think that is the only thing I am requesting of them though.

i think its over the top , you want your pictures to look good , and if a girl doesnt look good with her hair up you are defeating the purpose

I don't think it's over the top. I really think it depends on the type of girls you have in your wedding. My girls were all looking for guidance on how they should wear their hair. I was more of a do what looks best for you guys but in the end they wanted me to choose for them. It's all in the delivery I think. If you ask them nicely I am sure they will accomodate you.

I think that you should ask them all how they feel about wearing their hair all up. I personally hate how I look with my hair all up and would not be comfortable if I had to wear it like that. Just as you are allowing them to get any shoe they want in order to be comfortable, you should let them have final say in the hairstyle they get.

Honestly the pony tail thing is true, but by the time they do that you'll be done with formal photos, and by then does it really matter? My BM who wore her hair down put it up in a pony tail after about 3 hours of dancing at the reception--she looked great in all of our professional pics, there's maybe one from the dance floor where she has it up. Really not a big thing, JMHO.

I told my bridesmaids to wear their hair anyway that they want and to wear any shoes that they want as long as they are either bronze or brown. I also didn't care if they got their makeup done or not.
Everyone likes to wear their hair differently - I wouldn't ask them to get an updo.

I think your request is fine........I was a bm in a wedding and the bride had the same request. I don't like to wear my hair up at all and I did it bc it was her day and it really isn't a big deal. JMO..unless you have drama queen bm's...

personally, i didn't tell them how to wear their hair. i wanted all of them to be comfortable and i would want the option to where my hair however i wanted if it was me in the BP.

I would say if they ask, tell them what you prefer. Girls will do whatever you want but believe me if they don't like it they will talk about it, and rarely let it go.
One of my BM HATES to wear her hair up and she was asked to in a wedding. Seriously, 7 years later she still talks about it.
IMO I think it looks like the girls are weird clones when the hair is all the same.

It's going a tad far, but I've heard way worse. Quite honestly, I like the contrast of different hairstyles (the ones that suit them best) on the BMs. Makes 'em look less Fembot.
